FAR Studying – Final 3 weeks – strategy?

I’m using Yaeger, have gone through all of the lectures, modules, recommended MC’s/SIM’s, and back over the modules making notecards for each. I understood everything when going through – it’s just SO much that I forget it once I’ve been onto the next thing for awhile.

Just planning on doing a ton of MC’s for the next 2-3 weeks, as well as a cram video. I figure if I can do 20 MC’s per module for 4 modules a day (there are 26 modules) that will give me enough time to go through each 2 times.

My question is this – are just 20 MC’s per module 2 times between now and then going to be enough? It will be well over 1000 MC’s…but when looking at it from the perspective of just 20/module at a time it doesn’t really seem all inclusive.

Seem like a good strategy, or other suggestions? I’ll probably increase the # for the larger modules and decrease for the very small ones (there are a few). But then there are flashcards, reviewing notes, SIM practice, etc etc…just doesn’t seem to be enough time!

    Thoughts?

FYI – I work full-time and have a family, so other than a few days am unable to do the 10-12 hour/day study thing. Getting 3-4 hours per day is a lot for me. Have already logged over 200 hours over the past 4 months. I have always been good at test taking, and have done well academically. Am a decent accountant I think…so I'm pretty discouraged where I feel I am right now in terms of retention.

If I look at my notes or an explanation it comes right back to me…but a lot of the stuff I think is right under the surface. very frustrating!

Trust the Yaeger program. If you've watched the lectures, done all the assigned MCQs and sims, and have written your own notes for each module, you're in great shape. I spent my review time reviewing my notes and going back through the assigned MCQs and sims from the Wiley book a second time making sure I understood why the right answers were right and why the wrong ones were wrong. Then I did several sets of MCQs (sets of 30 to simulate the actual testlets) on Wiley Test Bank using practice/study mode, randomizing the questions from all modules. I made sure I consistently scored 80-90%.

I passed with relative ease and anticipated it being much worse than it was. The MCQs from the Wiley Test Bank were more difficult in general than the questions on the actual exam. However, the sims were tougher on the actual exam. Just keep in mind that FAR is a mile wide and an inch deep. Yes, you have to know a lot of information, but the exam itself didn't appear to me to test at a very in-depth level of understanding. Know the basics of all major topics and you will be fine. Best of luck to you!

Is there any way to do the MCQs in a broad set of 30 instead of a focused 20? If you have a habit of forgetting, this will give you a wide range of questions to work on and keep most things fresh. In my last 3 weeks I took 2 practice tests, rewrote some notes on topics I was forgetting, and went through about 120 MCQs per day.

    Journey Started - January 2015
    FAR - 4/2015 - Passed
    AUD - 7/2015 - Passed
    BEC - 8/2015 - Passed
    REG - 11/12/2015 - Passed
