Hi everyone. I haven’t been on here in a while with the Holidays and what not. Hope you all enjoyed them! Luckily Santa was good to me and gave me a passing score on REG. However, I feel totally LOST trying to study for FAR!! I’ve started about 2 weeks or so ago and am having a really hard time absorbing and understanding all the material. I’m trying not to get too overwhelmed since that is when I panic and then just mentally shut down.

I’m using Becker and have supplemented with NINJA Notes since I truly believe they helped me pass AUD & REG. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Or what they did? I’m watching all the lectures and highlighting but I just feel like I end up just going through the motions of highlighted and writing notes in with my red pen and not really paying attention to what is being said…though I try!

Anyways, any input would be great and much appreciated! I am just feeling so lost!

I know FAR can be tough with all the material. I would recommend setting aside some time to focus in on the Journal entries. I say this because when you practice tons of multiple choice questions, you do end up learning the entries, but I was feeling kinda hazy on them with just a couple days left before my test. I then decided to take my 2nd to last day to just study the journal entries. Knowing these entries helped me understand the problems better and simply gave me more confidence going into the simulations.

I would not wait as long as I did, but definitely incorporate a couple sessions dedicated to learning the Journal entries. Honestly, I think that's what most people get nervous about especially with the simulations.

With the material, it is a lot and you just need to keep grinding away. As you approach the test you may need to triage a bit. I was getting very frustrated with business combinations and ended up being ok just knowing the basics. You most likely won't know everything perfectly so don't get stubborn and do 100 straight questions on a tough topic when you have the rest of the test to worry about.

Lastly, I felt that the best Ninja MCQ was for FAR. I thought they were a huge reason that I passed. My recommendation is to completely get through your review course so that it won't matter that the questions are categorized differently between Becker and Ninja. Ninja products are a great way to supplement.

Good luck, and make sure to get a good night sleep the night before…I would even recommend watching a movie and relaxing the night before vs. studying too late!
