I normally supplement with Ninja MCQ as part of my review the last 2 or so weeks after I have gone through Becker, but with FAR, I have 2 weeks and 4 days for review which I am thinking might not be enough time to supplement with Ninja the way I am used to, plus given the volume of material, I am afraid to forget everything by the end of the first 10 weeks. I was thinking to do Ninja supplement after each 3 chapters or so? Has anyone one included Ninja like that and it worked? What do you guys think? I figure if I go through all of the Ninja questions as I go I can focus on missed since last time seen during my review. And I also plan on leaving some Becker SIMS for review time (or resetting some of them to give myself more practice). I wish Becker included more DRS because all of my REG SIMS were DRS and I hate them:)

You have less than 3 weeks for all of FAR? How much have you done so far?

My first round of FAR was the “Becker way” and then I added Ninja and passed 2nd time through. From there, I did videos first, then MCQ.

Ninja MCQ are aligned with the exam sections. Becker is not – so it's hard to align Becker and Ninja. Can be done but there will still be some square peg/round hole situations.

The benefit of going through all the videos first then MCQ is that it's more like an exam experience – all possible content – and it helps me integrate all the content. Your style may be different.

But the biggest red flag is the amount of time. From my perspective it would take superhuman capability to master FAR in that time unless I read it wrong.

BTW – I've done a lot of sims in both Ninja and Becker. Both have pros/cons but both will get you at least a flavor.

@M123-no, no! I have almost 3 weeks for review after going through all the material! So my test isn't until mid November:) I will be done with everything in the end of October. I am now in F2 only:) I normally use the last two weeks after going through Becker to do Ninja MCQ 🙂 I would be crazy to attempt FAR in 3 weeks time while working full-time! 🙂 Currently, I listen to lectures while in the car, then do MCQ, while going through the book and making notes/flashcards. I will do progress tests in Becker as I go as well. Oh, yes, and I do SIMS in Becker as well as I go.

Right on – that makes sense.

The combination that works for me is:

    * Read Ninja notes (or Becker 2016 notes if you can access but Ninja better) as “pre-read”.
    * Video for section and a sampling of questions to get a feel for what is asked.
    * Then at very end – MCQ until your eyes bleed to reinforce
    * Continue to read and reread your chosen Notes – each time will be a new “revelation” as they are your CPA Bible!
    * Alternate with all subjects v. trouble subjects in 30 question increments.
    * Target 60-90 MCQ per day

The benefit of this is that while you get a feel for the content going through the material – the jumping right into MCQ allows you to integrate all the content at once – thus not falling into the trap of forgetting early material. This is just me. Your style may be different. The hockey stick learning curve doesn't lie.

While some decry MCQ – the test is … MCQ! So it makes sense to have a lot of flight time on that. Plus it gives you a good idea of the variety. This last statement is in anticipation of conscientious objectors and not your particular issue.
