I am deciding whether to take Audit or FAR next. I need to take my next exam by November 30th and I have tentatively scheduled FAR. Is two months enough time to get through all the Becker lectures and study for FAR while working full time?

My logic is to try to take FAR before the changes in 2011, but I do not want to compromise a passing score if I do not have enough time to properly prepare for the exam.

    Please Advise…

    REG: Passed,(expired 4/30/11), Passed - 87 (2/29/12)
    BEC: Passed,(expired 2/29/12), Scheduled May 2012
    FAR: 72,74,74(C'MON!), (Schedule 4/20/12)
    AUD: Passed

This should be plenty of time to study for FAR. I did not use Becker, but anything over 8 weeks should certainly be plenty.

    BEC: 73,81(7/6/2010); AUD: 75(5/24/2010); FAR: 76(8/31/2010); REG: 77 (10/18/2010) - DONE!!!!

Try to do 1 1/2 chapters a week.

F2 is a bunch of unrelated topics and some of the info is covered in more depth later. Go through it once and come back for another review when you finish F9.

Do practice tests at least every couple of days to keep it fresh

Do a mini review after every third chapter.

As you go through the material take good notes and read over

The FAR Final Review is good too – I think it might be useful for the mini reviewa (cover the topics that you have studied & then redo just befoe the exam)

You can do it within 8 weeks

Thanks for the congrats. I hope none of you have to retake FAR. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

Why does NASBA keep tweeting about their CFO being in an article? Where are the exam updates???

Thanks Trevor and CPA Journey for the information! I am going to put together an aggressive study plan, do 2 chapters per week and take your study advice CPA Journey. I guess I will stick to my plan to take FAR by November 30th.

Yes, are you going to loophole?

I did it….. and it looks promising for me from what I understand. This is my last test and I got the “…coordinator….” message.

Trevor…. I don't feel like I put in a passing effort either. 56 hours! I assume the fact that we had studied hard for previous sections and were familiar with the test structure may help to off set our lack luster preparation. At least I am hoping!

MPoni your self discipline is amazing! I woke up three times this morning to check and see if CA scores were up. As soon as they were I checked the loophole.

    REG: 5/26 - 90hrs (Pass) AUD: 7/1 - 86hrs (Pass)
    BEC: 7/22 - 72hrs (Pass) FAR: 8/31 - 56hrs (Wait)

haha I checked it all last night, just a hunch that they had been released… Yea I think I might have been closer to 80 hrs, but definitley not more lol. I think you are right, also i feel as though the simulations help me… I have never been a good multiple choice test taker (BEC…) I knew the material fairly well so hopefully we will all be happy at the end of the night!

    BEC: 73,81(7/6/2010); AUD: 75(5/24/2010); FAR: 76(8/31/2010); REG: 77 (10/18/2010) - DONE!!!!
