cpa journey – I think the CRAM didn't work for me because I still didn't understand the concepts and couldn't apply them. It did boost my score 5 points…but not enough to pass. I needed the breakdown of topics to actually understand them. Once you understand them, the CRAM wouldn't hurt..but they go over the topics quicker (obviously). I think you should be fine with the homestudy, though .

Trevor – sounds good to me not sure if it will work though. Everyone tells me I did fine, I just didn't feel as confident coming out of the exam or actually going into it. I was experiencing study burn out so I slacked off a lot especially with the score releases…. hopefully I get a passing score so I can motivate myself to study for Regulation so I can be done this year…. I understand the grad school thing, just started two tax grad classes last week and haven't done much studying since then, starting work next week should be really interesting….

    FAR 7/2 - 88
    BEC 7/30 - 87
    AUD 8/27 - 80
    REG 11/12 - 96

Sounds good. I just need a few points (B5 is where I have problems) – I will hit B3 and B5 very hard and go over the other areas. The other areas were ok

cpa journey – Cindy really breaks down Chapter 5. Definitely review the handouts you receive for BEC!! All the formulas, etc. Cost accounting was so much easier once Cindy explained it and her little way of solving variances. That stuck with me. I just wrote it down on a piece of paper a few times to make sure I remembered it and could recite it on my own. Becker is just extremely confusing for BEC in my opinion.

As time progresses I feel less and less confident with my performance on FAR. This is the opposite of how I felt with the other three sections.

    REG: 5/26 - 90hrs (Pass) AUD: 7/1 - 86hrs (Pass)
    BEC: 7/22 - 72hrs (Pass) FAR: 8/31 - 56hrs (Wait)

Idrathergolf!! What's going on? 🙂 We are all back again lol. I feel the same way you do. I wish we had another month to wait haha these last 3 weeks have been really relaxing!! I feel like myself again. You know, a normal human being without the stress of the world on your back!

MPoni… Of course I come back to this thread! This is my favorite thread on the site.

Over the past few weeks I've just been working, golfing, watching football and relaxing instead of studying. What a relief.

You are absolutely correct when you say you are feeling like yourself again! I didn't notice it but I had a few friends tell me how glad they were that I was “done” with studying because I seem much more relaxed and back to myself again. I guess we become so obsessed with studying/passing the exam that we don't notice a change in our personalities as much as the people we know and deal with.

What I believe I am dealing with right now is the fear that either:

    1) I didn't pass FAR and will be forced to study this fall for a retake.

    and

    2) If I did pass FAR I will truly be done with this exam.

Although the time off from studying has been great, I haven't 100% let down my guard yet. My Becker FAR book is still on my desk at home. That doesn't mean that I've actually studied or looked over my notes but it is a reminder everytime I sit at the desk that I may have to return to that horrid book.

IF I do pass I may have to treat myself with some sort of vacation.

Do you have any special plans for when you pass?

    REG: 5/26 - 90hrs (Pass) AUD: 7/1 - 86hrs (Pass)
    BEC: 7/22 - 72hrs (Pass) FAR: 8/31 - 56hrs (Wait)

I feel exactly the same way you do!! I have been consumed with studying for the last year and a half that it really is an integral part of my life! It will be amazing when I know 100% I am done with this exam, but it will definitely be weird not having to study. I definitely noticed a change in myself and in my personality during studying. I didn't notice it until about midway through though. I was a complete nut!! Moody, bitchy, you name it!! just all around miserable. I think I snapped out of it once my Gram passed away in March and then my Grampa a month later!! That woke me up. I sort of normalized after that.

I definitely wanna treat myself to Lasik surgery after the exam lol and also my brother is getting married in Hawaii next summer so I think that might be my vacation for me. It's an expensive trip!!

Where will you go on vacation?
