ParticipantI am going against everything I stand for… reading the book… my notes are pretty long, but I know when I was watching the lectures I zoned out a lot… It really doesn't seem too bad. I am to the point in studying where you feel semi-confident, but then think it is just a false sense of security.
BEC: 73,81(7/6/2010); AUD: 75(5/24/2010); FAR: 76(8/31/2010); REG: 77 (10/18/2010) - DONE!!!!

ParticipantWell anytime now MPoni will be waking up to begin her review lol… Currently at work and have done nothing but read over governmental accounting. I hope not to get a SIM on this, but I think I could handle some theory questions… Ready for tomorrow to be over with!! (as long as I pass lol)
BEC: 73,81(7/6/2010); AUD: 75(5/24/2010); FAR: 76(8/31/2010); REG: 77 (10/18/2010) - DONE!!!!

ParticipantGood afternoon!! ugh late night last night…gotta get my coffee and bagel and get a move on!! lol…it scares me reading all the posts like “know this, this and this” I am like oh no I have a ton more reviewing to do haha…I have 13 more modules to get through but thinking that Module 8 (there are 5 modules for 8) are pretty tiny with the minimum MCQs so I hope I can get through them all today…
AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

ParticipantMPoni… glad to see you are awake and moving!
It was a ROUGH morning. I need more than 4 hours of sleep, that is for sure.
I know what you are talking about when saying that it can be overwhelming reading all of the “know this and that” posts. When going through the material I was just trying to get an understanding of each topic and then move along. This morning I kind of flipped through the book quickly (just to see how much I have covered in the past week) and it was VERY intimidating. The basic theory I am ok with. It is the small details that worry me!
I have been going at the CPA exam like a mad man since May 11th. Regardless of whether I pass FAR on this try or not it is great to know that after tomorrow we will have at least 3-4 weeks of time to RELAX and (maybe) regroup. I think tomorrow night I may go out to dinner and then see a movie.
We are in the homestretch, lets keep it going!
REG: 5/26 - 90hrs (Pass) AUD: 7/1 - 86hrs (Pass)
BEC: 7/22 - 72hrs (Pass) FAR: 8/31 - 56hrs (Wait)August 30, 2010 at 6:02 pm #249164MPoni123
ParticipantIdrathergolf – I don't even know how you are functioning right now! I can't wait until tomorrow is over…I am gonna do my best to keep reviewing today, but I am running out of steam soo fast. I have been at this since 2009!! Passing AUD and REG in october and november 2009 and finally passing BEC on my third try in July. It's been a long freaking road lol
I am definitely looking forward to just hanging out in September and not having to do anything. I won't even review my FAR notes lol. If I need to retake it…I will probably retake it sometime in November. (maybe even at the end so I will be in Wave 2 and won't have to wait long for the results)
I will be reporting back with my progress!! Good luck with the rest of the day! 🙂
AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

ParticipantYea you guys are doing very well! I am taking a little CPA off time also after this one… I take REG 10/18 and estimate only needing 5 weeks so I will start in the middle of Sept. just gives me a little time to breathe.. plus who knows maybe I do not pass FAR this time and I'll find out before I start studying for REG, then I can restudy for FAR instead and push back my REG date…
BEC: 73,81(7/6/2010); AUD: 75(5/24/2010); FAR: 76(8/31/2010); REG: 77 (10/18/2010) - DONE!!!!

ParticipantTrevor, the key is to maintain momentum! I think only having one section makes it worse because you are so close yet so FAR!! It may have been in my best interest to tackle FAR first but its too late for that and I don't have time to analyze it right now.
we are almost there! 24 hours!
REG: 5/26 - 90hrs (Pass) AUD: 7/1 - 86hrs (Pass)
BEC: 7/22 - 72hrs (Pass) FAR: 8/31 - 56hrs (Wait)August 30, 2010 at 6:57 pm #249168Trevor
ParticipantHello again… IT'S 3:00!!!! day is flying by. How is the studying giong for you all??
Question on your time management strategy… I am planning for 45 min per simulation, which will leave me what 2.5 hrs for MCQ's – so 50 min per testlet… is this what you guys are going with or something else (I am not sure of the 4 hrs lol, but thought I remember that from somewhere.. checking now)
BEC: 73,81(7/6/2010); AUD: 75(5/24/2010); FAR: 76(8/31/2010); REG: 77 (10/18/2010) - DONE!!!!

ParticipantHaha I was thinking that if I tried FAR first I would NOT want to do any other sections… I would have been so scared lol
BEC: 73,81(7/6/2010); AUD: 75(5/24/2010); FAR: 76(8/31/2010); REG: 77 (10/18/2010) - DONE!!!!

ParticipantI just got home from work, I have about 1.5 hours to study before I have to leave for a few hours for a prior commitment. My goal is to finish F9. I should be back around 9-10 to go over my notes. I am hoping I can get through them all in 3 hours.
My time management strategy is similar to yours. 50 minute average at most on MC testlets. 45 minutes per SIM.
The only problem I've had during my last two sections is that I have had to use the bathroom multiple times! I had to stop three times during AUD!!! I woke up early for the test and drank an entire pot of coffee before. For BEC I tried to cut down on the coffee and supplement with 5 hour energy and I still had to take a bathroom break.
REG: 5/26 - 90hrs (Pass) AUD: 7/1 - 86hrs (Pass)
BEC: 7/22 - 72hrs (Pass) FAR: 8/31 - 56hrs (Wait)August 30, 2010 at 7:08 pm #249171MPoni123
ParticipantHello! Trevor – that is my plan, too. I am gonna give myself 45 – 50 min each for the 3 testlets and then the remaining time split up between the 2 sims. I would rather give myself more time on the MCQs because if I get to a sim where I don't know how to do it..giving me extra time won't help any! lol I just wanna make sure I write decent essays for both.
LOL @ Idrathergolf! – I haven't needed a bathroom break yet…I took 4 hours for AUD (the exam is 4.5 hours) so I am hoping I won't need one for FAR either…I usually go right when I get there and then that is it! I don't drink too much water either right before.
The one thing that concerned me for AUD was my chapstick! I am addicted to chapstick and freaked out when they wouldn't let me take it in!!!! haha 4 hours without reapplying is a LONG time hahaha
AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!
August 30, 2010 at 7:10 pm #249172MPoni123
ParticipantTrevor – I haven't started studying yet lol =/ I am doing laundry at my parents' house and my nephew is here so I guess you can say I am “relaxing.” I will start soon hopefully!
I agree with Idrathergolf – I couldn't WAIT until I had 3 exams done and only 1 left..but I feel like being done is still so FAR away! I probably should have done FAR before and saved like AUD or BEC for last, but oh well. I can't go back now and change anything so just gotta get through this!!
AUD - 84; REG - 90; BEC - 79; FAR - 75; ALL DONE!!

ParticipantHi can someone help me with diluted eps
1. if basic eps is -2.00 would the diluted eps always be -2.00? To my knowledge all dilutive shares have antidilutive effect when basic eps is negative but not sure if I have the full story here.
2. if there is a stock split does that affect the convertible shares the same way as common shares i.e. assume beginning of the period to calculate the weighted average shares for eps?
Thanks.
DONE!
