FAR Study Plan

I’m taking FAR April 7th and am working my way through CPA Excel. I have 45 sections or segments to still get through. I’ve been trying to be very through on the ones I have done, but I feel like I’m starting to lose momentum.

My question is I am going on vacation in two weeks and I’m trying to be realistic about how much I will study when I’m gone. My plan was to try to get through the rest of the sections in CPA Excel before I go and to rewrite the NINJA notes while I’m on vacation and go through the 2013/2012 Becker questions. Then I’ll have two weeks when I get back to focus on whatever areas I’m weak in…

Any opinions on how I should do this differently?

Is there anyway for you to be able to do MC while you're on vacay? I find when i'm re-writing notes it's very easy to check out, and re-write them without gaining any extra knowledge. The best thing to do is to do MC and test your knowledge

Yes, I'll have access to MC's — that's a good point. I also haven't written out all the JE's for all of FAR, I've been doing them as I go, but I thought it might be a good time to go back and write those out.

I went to Hawaii about three weeks before I took FAR. I bought the Wiley test bank on my iPad for like $40 and did MCQ's over and over on the plane. I felt like I was able to study, although not as much as I could have if I hadn't been on vacation. The trip that really killed my studying was an international work trip to Europe for a week, I was exhausted and could barely study and then was jet lagged for a week after. I think that trip alone made me fail FAR.

AUD: PASSED [81]; Expired, retaking August 23rd
BEC: PASSED [83]; Expired, retaking July 11th
    REG: PASSED [83]
FAR: FAILED [64]; Retaking May 23rd
