FAR Study Plan

I’m taking FAR on May 3rd (tentatively) and I wanted advice regarding study strategy/how long to study. I am going to begin this week and I think I will be able to study at least 5 hours at work, if not more, each week. The only thing that’s really worrying me is that I will be going to Maui for 5 days in April and then a week after I return from that trip, I’m going to Poland for a week for work. Then we are closing on a home we purchased on Apr 30th so I will be moving for at least a few days. I will definitely make time to study during all of these events but as you can probably tell, there will be a lot going on. If I start this week and use Jeff’s ELL (early, lunch, late) strategy getting 4 hours in at least each day, then getting at least 4-5 on Saturday and 4-5 on Sunday…will that be enough time? I passed REG in 4 weeks studying 6 hrs a day, 6 days a week….Just looking for advice & tips because I’ve never taken FAR before and I lose BEC in July if I dont pass.

AUD: PASSED [81]; Expired, retaking August 23rd
BEC: PASSED [83]; Expired, retaking July 11th
    REG: PASSED [83]
FAR: FAILED [64]; Retaking May 23rd

Is difficult to say, especially if you are good in FAR or not. I have the same question, but for me I'm slow pace (I'm international student so many things are new for me). Willy suggest 2 to 3 months for the whole FAR, here in this forum you will see people that can study in 1 month etc.

I would suggest to see which material you are basing your study and to see if your plan fits that schedule!

    Good luck!!.

@MustPass1988, I feel you! I have an international trip in my plans before my next FAR attempt and unfortunately it has made me push my test back from 4/1 to 4/17. Basically, I'm assuming that I will not be able to study with the same depth/brevity when I am at home. It makes it even worse because I'm traveling with family and not exactly for work. I've traveled on vacation in my last attempt and although I made every attempt possible to study as much as I could I still felt that it was less than what I would've done if I was at home. That being said, I read somewhere here not to change your test date once you have it set. It will keep you focused as I did the same thing on my last attempt and the week before the exam I was going pretty crazy with the amount of reviewing I was doing. Anyway good luck i Na zdrowie!

    FAR - Bad Fail '11, Fail '12, Fail '13, PASS It's a miracle!
    AUD - Fail, PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    BEC - PASS!!!!!!!!
REG - PASS!!!!!!!! And I'm done!
