Hi All,

I am using Becker as it was provided by my company. I do not start work until August so I can study full time. I am scheduled to take FAR in 4 weeks and I am on F3. I feel like I’m having some issues going from the Becker lectures (specifically Gearty) to the MCQ. It seems like Gearty is simply reading the textbook to me and I do not find that to be helpful. My strategy thus far has been to do as many MCQ as possible and really learn from them. I seem to learn better this way.

I am planning on getting the NINJA MCQ for FAR, but I am wondering what the verdict is on the NINJA book. I think Becker does a great job in some places, but I think that I need a supplement that would better explain some of the more math intensive parts of FAR.

I hope someone can give me some feedback on whether they found the NINJA book to be a wise investment.

I used Becker and passed far on the first try…barely but i passed lol. Yeah I hear you with that Tim guy. He just reads the book sometimes and if it's for a subject you are weak in it can be frustrating. Never purchased the ninja book but If I had a hard time with a concept and it wasn't clicking in Becker first (for me it was pensions initially and leases etc.) I would watch Roger cpas videos on YouTube about the subjects. He has free videos. I know you are on f3 so there is one for equity and cost method and I think others too. I would check free videos online first before purchasing ninja book. Haven't heard anything about the book so I can't say if it's good. Of course there is nothing wrong with purchasing supplemental materials but I'm telling u what I did 🙂

please do NOT watch the lectures. utilize ur time wisely on other study strategies. seriously STOP WATCHING LECTURES- you didnt pay $3,500 for becker its not like ur losing any value/utility from the lectures. if you dished out the money yourself then there would be an argument for using everything you paid for. but in ur case STOP WATCHING LECTURES.

also stop doing MCQ, just read the Becker highlighted E-book from now and take notes (or if you have time [seems like you do cuz ur not working] read the actual physical book).

stop doing becker software MCQ's and jsut read and take notes from now on. if you miss the MCQ's too much you can do the 20 or so end of the chapter Becker MCQ's.

then and only then when you're done reading and taking notes on the material only THEN beginning intensive MCQ thru the becker software.

i guarantee you will pass. seriously- i guarantee you will pass if you do all of the above and put in at least 4 hours a day. and with your “no work” there is no excuse to not put in 6 hours a day really and enjoy decent freetime in the meantime
