Hi. I am taking FAR in 3 weeks. I am taking Becker CPA review course and I already learned Lecture 1-4. I only have 3 more weeks to the test date. I am wondering if anyone study and review 6 Lectures within 3 weeks but still pass the exam. I planned to take 1 week off from work and just study.

I could always reschedule the exam date but I think it could be possible to pass it.

love to hear your feedback on this! 🙂

Also keep in mind with the WTB that if you get an answer wrong and say “Try Again” and change your answer to the correct answer, it will reflect in the percentages that you got the question right and not take into consideration that you got it wrong the first time. Don't put too much stock in the percentages. You know what your weak areas are and will need to focus on those accordingly, not on what the WTB says your weak areas are if you are prone to changing your answers to view the WTB's explanation for the correct answer, like I do.

@CPAMommyof3 I'm trying to remember from when I was studying, and admit that my mind has blocked most of the memories 😉 , but I thought it used to count it wrong even if you changed your answer. Is that a change with the 2014 updates or am I just losing it? 😛

I am using the old WTB version and I got 3 out of 10 questions wrong on the first try, selected “Try again” for each of them and got them right on the second try. My score for the quiz was 100%. This was a week or two ago.

jgrocha, FAR is generally considered to be the most overwhelming one as far as the amount of material. Just keep working through it like you are. Everyone is in the same boat, and we're being scored against people who were in the same boat (it's not a curve, but how real people tend to do on a particular question is part of that question's score, so it's not completely unlike a curve either), so don't get frustrated.

I'm studying for FAR, too (just started last week), so I understand. One thing I'm considering doing should help tie the different areas together by looking at broad similarities across the different areas– for instance, I'll make a list of all of the concepts where'd you'd use discounted cash flows vs. a list of concepts where you'd use undiscounted cash flows.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

I'm in the same boat, and I'm considering just rescheduling. I'm using Becker, and got so far behind that I decided to just finish all lectures and do the note taking and go into the MCQ working through them with the notes as I go. So far I'm only on part 2, with 80% of part one committed to memory. Concepts are pretty easy- the problems you need to actually work through are killing me. Simulations are worse.

My test is on Monday the 21st- I don't think I will possibly be ready.

@rlarivee01–You're on Part 2 of 10 in Becker and your test is in 3 weeks? I would definitely reschedule. I have been studying FAR pretty consistently, while working full time, since January and I still don't feel 100% ready for my test in 2 weeks. It is a LOT of material.
