A1lessioParticipantSpartans – Polk earned 50k for the full year, but the sale took place on July 1st year 2, so you take half. Always look out for dates! Any chance the answer was 12,250? If not can you break down why?
I spent my Friday night re-writing the first 30 pages of Becker F2 and re-doing the 117 problems. 67% on a 40 question progress test with 40% on F2 – revenue recognition. Plan to grind it out tonight as well!

whyCPAwhyParticipantHi all! New to the group! I needed to find a group like this because I feel like I am currently drowning in CPA. I'm getting my masters right now and studying for the exam at the same time — hoping this upcoming break I can really crank out some studying especially because I'm taking FAR Jan 6…(pause for stressed out sigh lol)
I recently got my score back for AUD…73 π Feeling pretty down about the whole thing.
Any advice for how to get through FAR because I feel like I'm moving at the pace of a snail and my test date is fast approaching. These upcoming changes are really putting some weight on my shoulders as well.
I've scheduled some bold testing dates coming up:
FAR – Jan 6
AUD – 73, retake Feb 2
BEC – March 8
(^trying to get these in before the changes but not sure if it's possible)
REG – TBD maybe MayDecember 11, 2016 at 4:50 am #1376481
yazoon81ParticipantHi All,
I took my exam for FAR Q4, 2016 but really surprised for the score, it's damn hard to see your score is very near to pass but actually not. my score is 73 and now the only question playing on my mine is ( What's the hell is going on?).
And i don't know what is the weakness area i can't find. i studying from Becker but unfortunately, i can't see where is my weakness exactly are.
During the moment of finish the exam i feel comfortable that i will pass it but again i shocked on my score. it's a nightmare.
Any body can tell me from his experience if NINJA material is better than Becker. As i am now extremly confused.

StilgoinParticipantNinja materials are an excellent supplement to Becker. I would not say they are better, but I would say they give you a different perspective which is useful to anyone. From the looks of your post, I am wondering if English is your second language? The exam questions are written in a way that is meant to be confusing for people where English is their first language, so I can see why you might have trouble.
Try supplementing with Ninja and pay very close attention to the wording of the questions. They are tricky.

overwhelmedParticipantI started studying for FAR on Dec. 1st. Exam is on 3/10/2017.
i am still on chapter 2 and it has been almost 2 weeks already. I haven't completed the hw problems.
I watched the lecture and read the chapter. once i start to work on the hw problems, i do very poorly in.
Please someone help!!!! I am very nervous and seem to not understand anything I'm reading nor am able to retain information. what is the best method to study?December 13, 2016 at 3:38 am #1383191
yazoon81Participant@Stilgoin Thank you for your comments, actually you are right English is not my native language, but my studying in the university and school is on English so i don't think i have trouble on understanding the CPA questions.
And i will try to use NINJA as per your recommendation and try to pass FAR, many thanks to you.
@overwhelmed, don't be nervous just concentrate and be patient. I don't know if you study from Becker as Becker Chapter 2 is really tricky.Don't worry bro just try again & again until you feel that it's OK. if any thing you need don't hesitate to ask, As i tested for FAR since 2 weeks and i still remember the material π
Good luck.

tskits75ParticipantTook REG in early november, sat for FAR on 12/10 just to get a look at the questions. I read 9.5 of the chapters in becker but didn't have time to do any of the MCQ's or sims before taking the test. My firm pays for the retake so its a free shot. Did a lot of guessing but based on the material I'm hoping I can pass it on 1/7.
AUD - 92
BEC - 79
REG - August
FAR - TBDDecember 13, 2016 at 9:01 am #1383218
A1lessioParticipantoverwhelmed – just get through chapter 2 even if you do really poorly and move on. As the weeks go by keep going back to it, little by little. On the 117 revenue recognition problems I scored 50% the first time and last week I redid them after writing out the section and scored 70%. I think Chapter 2 is one of the hardest chapters I've ever come across.
Just keep obsessing over the material, writing out sections, writing out mcqs and slowly the information will make sense and not be so overwhelming. I wouldn't spend more than one week on a chapter.

shakil127ParticipantI just found out that I failed the FAR with a 71. I plan to start studying for it today. Last time I studied with Wiley test bank but did not complete the entire test bank. When should I do my retake of the exam? I think I did not pass because I only did 50% of the total test bank. I think I would have passed if I did all the questions. Trying to decide when to retake it. I would also like to take the BEC in next window. I passed it in 2014 but lost the credit last year.

mtaylo24Participant@shakil127, Same boat here homie. I have to bang both of these tests out next window. I know I need 45 days minimum for FAR, and maybe 30 for BEC. What's the strategy?!?

mckan514wParticipantwelcome back Mtaylo — together again π sorry man… it just sucks, think Mscfisher is back in here with us… this whole thing sucks. Just purchased Gleim and will do anything short of illegal to pass this thing in Q1

mtaylo24ParticipantMcKan, no sweat! I know I wasn't fully prepared going in, I was still averaging in the 50s. The thing is, with REG and even AUD, I took it so much that it was pretty much embedded by the time I passed, with FAR, I don't even feel close to that, although I am starting to feel that way with BEC. I definitely plan to READ more this go round and I am going to break Gleim's test bank, before I even consider doing the Ninja MCQ thing. Did you buy the whole FAR course, or just the TB?
