AnonymousInactive@OdellBj, yes when I calculated it as well, for Plane #2, the PV of the annual payments is less than 90% of the FV of the asset, which is why I classified it as an operating lease. It's only if it's more than 90% of FV that it's a capital lease, isn't it? Therefore, I'll still confused as to why they classified it as a capital lease.

onthewaytocpaMomParticipantFirst (and hopefully ONLY) go at FAR, it's my last test and I scheduled my test for the last week in November. And because it's my last test, staying focused thru this one has become harder since the “end” is so close. I'm using Becker and supposed to start module 3 tomorrow but still stuck on Module 2, topic 1 HW…it's so much information and taking so long to cover thru the material, I”m worried that I won't get through all the material by my exam date!!! I seem to be getting stuck on cash to accrual questions…..any advice on how to approach these?
Also, anyone using Becker having a hard time understanding their answer explanations? I feel like some of them don't make sense…didn't feel this way for the other 3 exams.

emichelle2321ParticipantOnthewaytocpaMom – I am in the EXACT same situation as you. I posted about this re: F2 in other threads, and the majority of people just advised me to learn as much as I can and move on to the next module as scheduled and to circle back to F2 during your final review, that it would make a lot more sense at that point. My test is scheduled for 12/8. I decided to forge ahead and start F3 today as planned so that I don't get off track!

se7en.14ParticipantWhen you keep doing questions over and over, don't the answers stick to your head even if you don't fully understand how to do the question properly?
It happens to me sometimes…September 26, 2016 at 3:58 pm #846320

Claudia408Participantdgiuliante – yes FAR is massive and it took me almost 5 months to get through all the lectures and 1700 mcqs once. i work FT and have been out of school since 2001 so it's tough! i'm overwhelmed but just keep pushing through practicing questions.

AnonymousInactiveCurrently studying for FAR and scheduled to take it on 10/14 but may switch to 10/21. Are there any study groups to practice questions? If not, is anyone interested?

emichelle2321Participantdgiuliante – YES. I am on F3 this week, I work fulltime, I am definitely feeling overwhelmed and very anxious about retaining all of this information. F2 made me feel horrible about it, but F3 so far seems to be going smoother. Not sure if it's that I've finally found a study groove or what. Either way, its a massive amount of material.
bennu18 – I am not taking FAR until late November, but I'd definitely be interested in a study group.
Claudia – how much were you able to study each day/week working fulltime? Did you pass?
September 27, 2016 at 4:57 pm #847277
Claudia408Participantemichelle – i did not pass, got 68. some study days are better than others, but i probably get 15-20 hours a week. i get most of the studying done weekend mornings and early afternoons.

RizParticipantHi All
Scheduled for FAR November end using Gleim. First time sitting for the CPA. I started studying a week ago and I'm on study unit 3. The material is overwhelming – I don't know if I'm retaining much. I've been studying through the text, just reading, highlighting, taking down notes, and then answering the MCQs at the end of each study unit. I've not gone through the audio/video lectures online.
It's been a while since I've picked up a book to study so still trying to figure out the optimal studying strategy for myself.
I'll be posting my progress and maybe questions here. I'm glad I found this study group, reading through everyone's posts helps in staying motivated.

K.AshoParticipantHello everyone!
I'm scheduled to take Far at the end of October. Originally I was supposed to take Audit but I decided to push that back in order to give myself a fighting chance against this beast before April of 2017. I'm studying through Becker and the amount of information definitely is overwhelming. Topics that I thought I understood during college seem to confuse me a bit now. My study technique has been reading the textbook, taking extensive notes and then reviewing said notes before answering the MC questions per subsection. My plan is to get through all the material in order to further review it all over the course of 3 weeks while taking progress tests along the way. I used a similar technique while studying for Reg and was able to pass but I am worried this technique will not be enough for Far…
I look forward to posting my progress while following all of yours as this is a long a hard journey!

CPASF1ParticipantCan someone please show me an easy/logical way to setup leases problems. like in table format. I see in the ninja combo that there is a table to setup bonds, but i don't see one for leases. Thanks! 🙂

emichelle2321ParticipantDoes anyone have any good tips on making sure you retain information from previous sections?? I need to keep moving forward but I'm worried about older topics. Should I wait until my final review as a way to save time and make sure I get through all the sections?? Help!
