    Just3 – 200*1000*1.03 = 206,000 Carry Value – 5000 BIC = 201,000 Net Carry Value

carry value is the present value and net would be subtracting BIC…

    i think 🙂

Just sat for FAR, no real surprises except about 1/3 of the MCQ's were on government/not for profit. In retrospect, wish I had spent a little more time on those topics.

    Thanks Claudia,

I got to focus more on specific terms such as “net” because it's obvious now. Thanks!

    Hawk,

how do you feel it went??? I'm sure you did well!

Sims were okay, not as bad as I expected them to be. FAR seems like a ton of material and overwhelming when you are studying but when you're in there, it all comes back to you. My best advice is try to focus on the little details of every topic, as I'm sure I left some answers on the table due to those small memory lapses.

    Hawk,

what did you do for your final review? Did you just re-do all the MC?

I guess governmental and NFP being heavily tested is a good thing as those two sections are my highest scores! Thanks for updating us Hawk and best of Luck!

Spartans – how did you study the Govt JEs? Do they make sense to you? They're so stupid! LOL.

I feel like I'm getting stupider- I am now getting less right on the MCQ's than ever before its like the more I review the stuff I don;t know/ don't feel comfortable with the more I am forgetting the stuff I actually was doing well on– now I can't seem to answer anything correct… and hearing that they are testing Govt. heavily just really puts the cherry on top of an already crappy study day…. sorry guys just needed to vent FAR is truly kicking my ass… I want to cry

and they ask me why I drink...

I am using Becker and Ninja MCQ's. I did most of the MCQ's and Sims in the Ninja software, not sure if it will work, will see on May 5!!! The Gov/NFP is close to the weighting estimate the AICPA gives, but I didn't have a course on it in school so all my learning was from the CPA review courses. The rest of FAR feels like review of intermediate accounting to me…On to AUD end of May.

I'm typically getting 50/60s first try as well and it is absolutely driving me crazy. I get so frustrated sometimes but I know that my best chance at passing is just keep doing more and more and reading the explanations when I get them wrong. Keep up the hard work everyone!

@claudia408- glad to know I'm not alone– was scoring solidly in 60's and 70's and now can't get out of the 50's its like I am going in reverse….

@just3letters- your right just need to keep plugging away at it–

    back to it 🙂

I took the exam yesterday, and this is nothing new so I don't think I am violating any disclosure rules: the test % for what the AICPA sates that Gov't and NFP material will be tested DOES reflect on the actual exam.
