Spartans92ParticipantI have never felt so overwhelmed before until now studying for FAR. I dread studying everyday. Wrapping up F9 and F10 by the end of this week. It worries me because I don't really remember anything from earlier. But it sounds like as long as I understand the wrong answer vs the right answer and average in the 70s-80s on Ninja I have hope of passing. I really don't want to study this section for the second time. Really needed to vent and I apologize for this.

Keep the faith! When you start your final review, things should slowly start to come back (not fully by any means but thats why it is so important to get through everything a second time IMO). I am on my final review of F7 and some things are clicking and some aren't. That being said good things come with time, be patient. I have felt the same way at times, believe me – but you have to somewhat trust the process.
My final 7 days I plan to strictly work NINJA MCQ's until I cannot do anymore. You seem to be on track so just keep at it. Honestly, just think about how far you've come and what you DO know. That is what I try to do. Focus!

Claudia408Participantmarqzho – May 2 is a big day for both of us. AUD has the least amount of material, you'll be fine.
I'm w Spartans though… Everyday is a battle with. UUGGHHHH!!! I want my life back after June!!!

Spartans92ParticipantThanks Operation for all the positive words! Good luck with your exam this month. Claudia, this is definitely a BATTLE or I think a WAR sounds more accurate haha. And congrats on passing with a 90 Marqzho! What do you advise for the SIMS? In terms of how many days should I prepare for it? I have only been working on the MCQ so far. I plan on spending 2-3 days on SIMS only. Would that be enough? Thanks.

Everyone is different. I spent 2 days of my final week just for SIMS. You should already have solid understanding on the topics by practicing thousands and thousands of MCQ. So for the 2 days, we need to focus on the flow, style , and the format of the SIMS. Make sure you practice all the research type questions that you have because they are some easy points you can't miss. On the exam day, make sure you leave at least 105 mins for all 7 SIMS! (preferably 2 hours) very very important IMO!

Just3LettersParticipantUgh! I just finished watching Becker F5 and it was SO dry. Watching the lectures is my least favorite part but now I'm ready to go do MCQ until I fall asleep or collapse. I actually feel pretty good about bonds and long term stuff. I've always been pretty solid with effective interest.
Any experience with specific struggles from leases/bonds/NPs?
Also, loving all the positivity 🙂 Keep it up people!

Spartans92Participant@just3letters, totally agree that F5 was dry and boring but as you said the effective interest method is pretty straight forward . The only thing I would say I still sometime struggle with are the dates.. really gotta pay attention to the timing 6/12, 9/12 etc. Pension is FUN! Not being sarcastic at all lol. Especially when you understand and get the questions right it just makes you wanna keep working. 🙂

LostinamericaParticipantI am taking the exam on 5/31 and I am hoping it is long enough. Right now, I am going through the Statement of Cash Flows and these questions seem extremely difficult and convoluted. I am getting more right than wrong but they are absolutely exhausting. Am I the only one with this experience and will they be this difficult. I am using CPAExcel.
Does anyone have any advice on if there will be a lot of these as there sure seems to be a lot of them in the review.
Thanks

marqzhoParticipantBelieve me ! you will definitely see a lot of questions about stmt of cash flow in your exam
Always are the topics that you are not familiar with get asked the most. 🙂Cash flow is all about logic and memorize. Four things on top of my head about cash flow you need to know.
1. cash to accrual or accrual to cash
2. classification of different kind of activities
3. indirect vs direct method
4. IFRSREG 90

KJParticipantFAR does seem so overwhelming. One day I feel I know everything and the next nothing at all!! I did not study for last 2 days (don't ask why) but back at it now. My target is finish reading all the topics by end of April while doing MCQ's with each topic. I will hit SIMS 2-3 days in early May and last 2-3 weeks endless MCQ's. Hoping to pass the first time!!

Just3LettersParticipantKanwal78,
I agree with the overwhelming part! So much infooo! I'm still waiting for that day where I feel like I know everything haha
The IFRS stuff annoys me so much because it's significant but I've never learned any of it before now 🙁
If I don't know the answer I typically just stick with the answer that is most conservative/or closest to GAAP because I figure I have a higher chance of guessing correctly if I choose an answer that is close to typical GAAP fundamentals.
Anybody have other hints about answering IFRS questions (not relating to any specific topic, just in general for FAR)
Thanks!!!
