Wow.. Did about 120 MCQ today all between 60-70 some as low as 55%. Did them in a set of 20. Im averaging 67%. Somewhat depressing but Im moving onto the SIMS! Hopefully, doing these will help bridge some gaps. I really need to pray tonight :/

How do you guys practice using the calculator like it will be on the actual exam? I have my FAR exam in one month but am still using a TI-83 calculator. I'm currently using a mac so if I practice with the on screen calculator I have to click the numbers with a mouse which seems impossible for the actual exam. 🙁

Parker, a lot of the testing facilities will issue you a ‘regular' calculator if you request one.

@Spartans – When is your test? did you take the becker practice exams?

@parker I use a number pad on my lenovo. Which is useful for both cpa and work.

Okay thanks @BondVillain and @A1lessio, I will practice with a number pad until the test and call in before to request a calculator just in case!

@bondvillian – I swear every time that I ask for a physical calculator I get the from the prometric staff. They always have to look up the new rules before they cave in LOL. Once they find it I'm like

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)
    FAR - (8/16)

51% on the optional practice questions in Becker F5…eeeek. Even though the exam is 6 days away I feel like I am really starting to get a solid grasp on the material. Would you guys focus on the sims in these next few days or memorizing journal entries? I know Journal entries, but not all of them and I didn't actively memorize them.

@A1lessio, I can't express the importance of the SIMS.. I thought I knew Cash flow and some topics well but the way how they word or ask it on the SIMS is different. Im getting crushed by the Ninja Sims, can't pass 50% and I'm on Question 20/74 Sims I believe. I just got one on sum of digits.. Lord, I forgot those already.

My test is tomorrow LMAO!! and nope Im not doing the becker practice as Jeff said those take long time and I dont get feedback right away. By the time Im done I dont feel like going back to check the answers LOL. Im just doing MCQ and SIMS mix. Probably calling it done soon. I dont wanna overkill and forget things or get into a panic attack.

I would balance out both JE and SIMS. I think JE can be very easy to write out once u get the question. Good Luck!

@maytalo, man I feel the same this lady seriously recognizes me and isn't the first time I asked but she always check the rules like seriously its my DANG 5-6x coming here already!

Does anybody have any tips on how to start memorizing JE’s? I use Becker and unlike the IFRS vs US GAAP in F10, they don’t have any summarized areas for JE’s. Do you just go through chapter by chapter and write them down? Thanks in advance! 🙂

@azfrench, I wouldn't memorize them.. Actually it will come easy to you once you understand each. When you start reviewing look over the JE and even if some questions dont ask for one write them out.

Heres a link for some simple entries: https://www.principlesofaccounting.com/illustrative%20entries/entrieslist.htm

@azfrench – I agree about memorizing journal entries – they should make sense. I often use JEs and T-accounts to solve the MCQs quickly. It organizes the information so I keep it straight more easily!

    GOOD LUCK TODAY SPARTAN!!!

Agree with what Spartan and GiniC said- wouldn't memorize them but definitely know how everything flows- like GiniC I use JEs and T accounts to help solve the MCQs-
