^^^Yeah I'm over here heated! I'm not trying to be studying the wrong answer. As dumb as it sounds, I'm relying the provider, not the dang on Journal of Accountancy! That can be the difference between a 74 and a 75 smh….

    AUD - 1st - 60 (12/12), 61 (2/13), 61 (8/13), 78! (11/15)
    REG - 55 (2/16) 69 (5/16) Retake(8/16)
    BEC - 71(5/16) Retake (9/16)

okay I guys I can't get into specifics because of disclosures but I am sitting here feeling like a COMPLETE EFFING IDIOT– I am studying a topic and it all of a sudden hits me that I had two terms completely backwards in my head and about 25 questions regarding them on my exam- and one simulation!!! all of which I thought I had “nailed” but clearly had them backwards… OMG I FEEL SO EFFING STUPID!!!! no wonder I failed… I mean I guess I should be happy that I have finally figured it out but still wow I feel like a dumb a##

Sorry I just needed to say that to people who might understand.

@mtaylo agree 100% with you– and actually just sent an email to both Gleim and Rogers asking for clarification- Roger's has updated the videos but not the MCQ's….will post back if I hear anything…

I'm taking the AICPA Sample Test, and I'm trying to be careful how well I read these questions. I remember seeing at least one of them before, but the MCQ's are trickier when I misread them. I had plenty of time. Maybe I need to practice a few more MCQ's before Monday? I tend to psyche myself out on these and the real exam. Aside from that. This is one of the first times I remember retaining this much up until my final review. I would credit that to covering FAR in a month. Non-for-profit and governmental are still where I need work according to my analytics in Gleim, and I had one of each out of 5 questions, so I can imagine I need to put in a little time there before my exam. If I would have got up earlier I would have taken my Exam Rehearsal. Hopefully, tomorrow I will. The DRS usually takes me the most time as it did tonight. I'm feeling more confident, but I know I can't underestimate the exam. I can see I still have room for improvement, but that Sample Test is good practice!

Good Luck Jalls!!! I actually had 2 MCQs from the AICPA practice exam show up on my real exam last quarter so its def. good practice. I agree the DRS's take forever to complete- in fact was laying in bed last night before I went to sleep wondering if the test committee actually KNEW how long they took to complete… I mean who are there “test subjects”- accountants who have been practicing for many years can probably crank them out in like 5 mins but us mere mortal newbies– sigh bitching does no good just random thoughts I have at night 🙂

Hit your MCQ's hard over the weekend then rock it on Monday!

So frustrated. It seems that every time I set up a quick retake something blows up that needs attention during the time to restudy. It happened again this past week, so now I have to retake FAR today at 12:30 EST. Anyhow, I have been cramming and feeling overwhelmed by all of the information that we have to remember. I made a 73 on the first go around, so I am hoping I can pull out a win this time around. Then on to studying for REG, which is the last section I haven't studied for yet. 4 weeks to study that and then take it for the first time, then retake BEC early march (74 first time, 68 second time)… I need at least 2 passes this round to feel ok about myself.

All the best to everyone that is taking the exam soon! Keep grinding and don't give up!

@tarheel83 Take a deep breath and give it your best. Going in frustrated is the worst thing that you can do. Good luck buddy!

@mtaylo24 Thanks man! Going to do just that. I know I can beat this exam today!

I just always feel like I could know more, but I think that's just the nature of this exam.

    Goodluck Tarheel!

Mtaylor- Same here I need to review F2-F5 this weekend in the Becker Book this weekend. I usually write out the 2-3 page outline, redo all the mcq, and redo the sims.

I'm a little late to this party, took REG on Wednesday and had one night off from studying before I opened my FAR book. I have 58 days to get through it.

My plan: spend four weeks going through book & lectures, and spend another four weeks on MCQ and second review with Bob Monette.

If anyone needs to feel a little better about not passing, here's some back story:

I sat for FAR six months after graduation and five months into my first job in public, knowing I was completely unprepared. I kept bumping out my test date until
I hit the last day of the window. At that point, I figured I'd at least benefit
from the experience since my fees
were already sunk costs. I think I had made it through 9 or 10 sections in Roger, but not much effort beyond watching the lectures and reading the book. I left the test center laughing like a crazy person ‘cuz I realized I had ZERO chance of a 75.

    I got a 26. LULZ!

Three years later, FAR is a lot less intimidating. Most of my work experience has involved preparation of full
    financials, from booking journal entries
to writing the footnotes. Govt and NFP will be new tsrritory, but the rest should be reasonable. If O passed REG this week, this will be my last section. I
start losing credit in August, so I hope I can
kill this exam with one “real” shot. I

mecrushya – Do you feel like taking FAR that first time without being prepared was still worth it for the experience?

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I take the test Monday, and despite the last several months of not-so-good studying (thanks to holidays, getting sick, and lack of motivation), I don't feel ready at all. And I've also been working full-time since I started studying.

Just hard to find the right balance. I plan on re-taking FAR at the end of May and use the little time I'll have during busy season to review and hopefully find a way to retain info.

Hey, guys. I was hoping someone could help clarify interest earned of permanently restricted assets for NFP. So for example, if a company receives funds to be held in a permanent fund and only interest is allowed to be used, as soon as this interest is earned, does it go straight into the temp restricted fund or does it go in a perm restricted fund until it is needed and then moved into temp restricted?

@sacred_cpa — I **think** that if the interest income is not restricted in anyway then it would go straight into the unrestricted fund when earned- if however it was restricted for something specific then it would go into the temp. I think the only thing that goes into the perm. fund is the principal…

    @runegoblet:

It was worth it, but it was the last day of the testing window, and a day or two before my NTS expired. If you can put in another 6 weeks and take FAR in late Feb or the extended window in March, I'd work toward passing FAR in Q1, if possible. It sounds like your NTS expires soon, so your situation is a little different than mine was.

If a couple hundred bucks isn't a hardship, I'd cancel this slot and reapply/schedule FAR for late Feb or March, with the intent of buckling down and learning the material in the next 8 weeks.
