norseman88ParticipantHoping for a little help on what I hope is not too dumb of a question.
If a treasury stock is reissued, is it considered a common stock outstanding or treasury stock outstanding? Is treasury stock in general considered common stock even if held and not outstanding?
Thanks

T RevParticipant@norseman88 Treasury stock is not considered outstanding for EPS and other calculations.. What are you trying to measure that would require you to determine what is considered common stock? Treasury stock is included in the measure of shares “issued”, but not the float or number “outstanding.”

norseman88Participant@Trevor I want to know if treasury stock is resold, is it considered common stock outstanding or is it treasury stock outstanding.

mtaylo24ParticipantDoes anybody get annoyed when you calculate WRONG and it's not an answer choice? For example, I had my COGS calc backwards (300,000+700,000-100,000 = 900,000/200,000 =4 .5) but 4.5 is not an answer choice. I know its a good problem, but its annoying
The following information was taken from Baxter Department Store’s financial statements:
Inventory at January 1 $100,000
Inventory at December 31 300,000
Net sales 2,000,000
Net purchases 700,000What was Baxter’s inventory turnover for the year ending December 31?
A. 2.5
Answer (A) is correct.
Inventory turnover is equal to cost of goods sold divided by average inventory. Cost of goods sold is equal to net purchases minus the annual increase in inventory. Thus, it equals $500,000 [$700,000 net purchases – ($300,000 – $100,000)]. Average inventory is $200,000 [($100,000 + $300,000) ÷ 2]. Inventory turnover is therefore 2.5 ($500,000 ÷ $200,000).
B. 3.5
C. 5

mtaylo24Participant@stickynicky, Gleim offers that question for both FAR and BEC. They slap the ratios into the Derivatives/Foreign chapter. I actually worked BEC working capital earlier today so I found it quite funny when I seen the exact same questions between both topics.
NEVER, look up questions after a test tho LOL. I'm guilty AF for doing that 🙂

mtaylo24Participant^^^Good looking out! I planned to go hard on GOVT tomorrow anyways so I will definitely keep all of that in mind. I figured that the test is just like Ninja. You are more likely to see the items in 1, 4,& 5 than in 2 or 3 of the CSO. That's why I get frustrated w/ some of the topics, but try not to stress too much.

Spartans92Participant1 more week and I will be back in here.. Hopefully for my final round and be done. I am super nervous because if I dont pass AUD and FAR my BEC is for sure dropping!! I can't handle retaking 3 sections.
I just read through Mckan and Mtaylo post.. DANG! I cannot recall the bonds with attachable warrants nor the treasury vs par method. I feel like Im gonna have to take FAR forever!
BEC- PASS

mckan514wParticipant@norseman88- when treasury is reissued it is reissued as common. Just think of your TS account as kind of a savings account for stock. The company can buy back its own stock- but doesn't want to retire it so they put it in treasury so they can reissue it at a latter date.
@mtaylo- no I actually like it a lot when I calculate something wrong and the answer isn't a choice- ha ha ha ha- at least then i KNOW I did it wrong- much better than calculating it wrong and having the wrong answer as a choice…
@spartans92- welcome back– sorry you are back in here- am praying that we won't spend the Spring together again like last year :-)— Check out the Gleim test bank- the questions are hard as S__T BUT I feel like they have honestly taught me a lot of stuff that I was having trouble with the previous two times.
@HR and @Mt– looks like we are all “political today'_ its a govt. day for me as well- I dread it. GRRRR!
and they ask me why I drink...

REG-75- Never been so happy to see such a low grade

MscfisherParticipantHi guys I just want to say again that everyone is so motivating even though I don't post much I read almost every message. Anyway I found some really good notes on scribe I just Googled for far notes. They are pretty much like the Becker outlines. So there is always a 10 minutes for the introduction screen before you enter launch code for the test. My strategy this time around is to use 6 or 7 of those minutes to write down all the formulas and numonics I can remember that way when the exam does start I won't waste time trying to remember formulas. With two weeks left I am trying to do as many simulations as possible because I feel as though simulations ask a little bit of everything.
