marqzhoParticipantI think I will do that. Just like I did with REG. I was still hanging around REG group after the result, and left when I needed my full focus on FAR. I am happy to help and contribute to this great place !
I gave myself couple days off study for FAR result, so I am still on the 2nd chapter on AUD. 🙂

Kemi22Participant@ bin: MCQ, MCQ, MCQ … from 2 or 3 different providers if you can afford it. Also try cpareviewforfree.com MCQ – they have some good ones and helped me understand some key concepts better than other big name course providers. Plus, never give up because if I could pass this (especially FAR!), then you can pass it, too! Good luck!

Claudia408Participantmarqzho – wait, where did you get the $7000 from? It's on the I/S but I didn't tell you that, or did you see that in the book?

MoeshowParticipant@marqzho I looked through the thread and saw you used Roger review course, which I'm currently using and purely used for BEC. Did you feel like Roger review was enough on its own or should I consider buying the Wiley or Ninja test bank as well? It looks like you supplemented your studies with Wiley. Did you also use outside information, like text books or online searches or just Rogers and Wily?
Btw, how long did you study for the FAR exam?

marqzhoParticipantMoeshow
I passed REG and FAR by using Roger course and Wiley Test Bank, so I am not a perfect example for people who used Roger alone. I did see people here used Roger alone and passed all 4 sections. And I saw people studied one morning and passed BEC with flying color. It all depends on your learning style and background.
I will always suggest people to supplement Wiley or Ninja MCQ for insurance. It's just 47 bucks for a section Ninja MCQ, definitely good money investment. If $47 is a big question here, then do consider it when you take REG.
I didn't keep track of how many hours I put into it. I watched all Roger lectures once, did all his IPQ questions. and did all Wiley TB MCQ, then had a final review. I'd say probably 130-150hours.

KJParticipantI can't believe I am going for this. Just scheduled for my FAR exam. Using Wiley for MCQ/TB and Ninja 10 point combo. Not a good start with my practice MCQ's, trending between 60-75%. In the middle of selling house and other distractions I just need to relax. But here I come FAR….

MoeshowParticipant@Maeazho Thanks!
By length of study time, I mean how many weeks?
I have the same process as you. Watch the lectures for one section then did all the IPQs for that section and use it as a tool to understand and review the material. Never took any practice tests for BEC, just did all the IPQs. Did you use any textbooks or online resources when studying?

I didn't study every single day during that 6weeks.
I used Roger textbook and used google and here as my resources 🙂

KJParticipantThanks @ marqzho for the motivation!!! The problem is I am not working in accounting field right now; even though I completed my higher accounting level courses 2 years ago some of these problem questions are just driving me crazy. I worked with an accountant 10 years ago so need to refresh with all these JE and other things. I have been following this forum since December 2015 and it has given me some good tips/motivations from others as well.

JoshParticipantkanwal78, FAR is a beast. How do you like 10 point combo? I'm using MCQ's and flashcards in addition to materials from other reviews and trending 67 at the moment, although my average is 73. Governmental is my weakest area. I'm not working in accounting either but another field. Are you working? I joined AICPA and NMSCPA's as a candidate because of the discount that's offered. I just got a mentor in my state's society. I'm happy about that. I think being involved in societies like that is a good way to get experience or accounting exposure before working in accounting.
You seem to have your exams spread out pretty well. I know Jeff's suggestion is to take them in 8 weeks if you are able. I want to get faster myself. Do you have family obligations or other responsibilities? I know my new marriage is taking time. I don't want to make excuses, but I have to find a way to speed up. That's not easy on FAR. I'm mainly saying that because somehow (and it was my 4th try), I found a way to do all my lessons for my main review and pass my exam for BEC in a month. Good job on getting your exam scheduled. I believe in deadlines. Good luck everyone.
