Thank you for sharing your experience, Gabriel. I am sure we all know the feeling of doubting ourselves. Hang in there. You CAN and WILL pass, as long as you don't give up…. and I know by reading your comments that you won't. Best of luck in REG.

Sorry guys- 1 last question beforeI head off to bed. So on these SIMS there are partial credit right?? because in Becker I have some numbers right and wrong account name and vice versa and I was marked wrong completely. Ex: account should be debit Cash and credit payable. I did Debit cash and credit expense and the amounts were correct.

@Iwannacpa , yes they do give partial credit. There may be questions where ultimately so many fileds will have no values ,please follow the instruction and put zero if it instructed to do so.Keep in mind each field 1 mark (even for correct zero ).
    All the best.

@wannafree, Thanks bud!! I just went over the mock exam again and realize how much credit I could pick up if I do get partial, so its a huge relief knowing I do understand “some parts” LOL. Taking off to parametric now. All the best to you tomorrow too!! Lets hope for a BIG christmas present this year and not having to worry about these exams during the holidays/tax season. 🙂

Quick question – based on my experience and what I've read on the board, I think if you are trending 70% or higher on MCQs – you are in pretty good shape. My question to all of you – what do you consider “trending.”

I've been going through chapter by chapter and doing progress tests of anywhere from 20-33 questions at a time. I typically start with a 50-70 on the first 20 questions. After some review on some areas I'm usually pretty quick to get up to the 70% range. After a couple hours in the chapter (in most cases this is my second or third time through the chapter over the last 9 months), I feel alright about it, but definitely have areas that I struggle with. How many questions would you say make you feel comfortable with a 70% or higher? I know there isn't a right or wrong answer, but I'm trying to get an idea of what everyone is doing so that I can make sure I'm covered on some of these chapters.

    I'm using Becker.

@IwannBcpa ,so sorry to know that as you studied hard.Where it became difficult MCQ or SIMS ? What happened buddy ,topics out of left field or too many documents ?

@Iwannabe – I don't know how you normally feel, but I have never felt like I passed leaving the testing center. I've taken many exams and have felt like I failed 100% of the time. So just remember that until you see a 74 or lower, it's not over!

In terms of the DRS – my experience has been that it's not as difficult as it is time consuming. Was that consistent for you? For instance, if you had unlimited time, would you feel better about it?

Also, any pointers you can give the procrastinators of the group would be appreciated!

“procrastinators of the group ” that's good one as I postponed my exam today morning and my wife said same thing “procrastinators” .

@cpathird any suggested approach for DRS ?

Not really. The only thing that I made sure to do was to read all the questions before going through the docs. So if it lists out 5-6 questions, read them all and have an idea of what they are asking. Chances are you will be working on them all simultaneously. I changed the answers to mine numerous times because I uncovered new info. In my experience, they were actually pretty easy, but you needed to make sure to give yourself ample time to get through all the docs.

the more I think about it, the best advice I can give on the DRS is to make sure you finish the MCQs as fast as possible.

haha i wouldn't say the SIMS were too hard but def time consuming. I did have 1 same sim as I did last time yet I still did terrible I think. My MCQ got wordier and much more difficult (more calculations and involvement) I dont know if that is a good thing- I can never tell when it comes to FAR. Other sections I know if I did well or not.

SIMS- I dont think any software out there could have prepared me for the DRS because usually becker would give u 4 choices and things stands out pretty quick. All my DRS' had like 6-7 options and its like by the time i get to the 4th option I have to re-read what the question says.

Time management is key. I went into the SIMS with 2 hour and 5 min, thinking I had plenty of time I went and take a bathroom break but dang those people at prometric could have speed up but instead took 10 mins off my clock by taking their time. I was mad when they took that long while the clock was running. :/

    good luck to everyone else!!

1 question on contributed services- If they fail the “SOME” test is it considered an expense or revenue? or both?? An increase in rev and exp.. Thanks! Hoping to have a great christmas present, otherwise I gotta retake 2 and possibly 3 exams. What a great time to be ALIVE, ehh
