@CPAhira ,I feel except Pension and Consolidation most chapters are tested consistently. if you do good in testlet1 then sure there would be Pension and Consolidation MCQs in testlet2.
NASBA should pass me otherwise this old Monk will teach all the tricks of CPA exam to future CPAs.LOL

@wannafree I also heard government wide reconciliations aren't heavily tested, your thoughts?

@heidigail30 are you doing F-9 & F-10 for the first time or you you are just reviewing them? these topics are taking literally lot of time. Will you use any other material during review or only becker?

Hope everyone's studying is going well. I will begin my final review in a couple days and wanted to know where I stand compared to others. What is a normal score to be averaging on all the MCQ on your first run through Becker? I'm getting much lower %'s for FAR now that I have in the past for BEC and AUD. Any input is appreciated, thanks!

    FAR, FAR, FAR

Summer in Florida can be brutal, especially in an old house like ours. Hurricanes like to line up and bowl at our heads this time of year.

I've studied for 5 months, done 3000+ MCQs and about 100 Sims, and am still not feeling ready for this exam next week.
I work about 60 hours a week and manage two businesses, one of which is a stressful one. -Yet I am happily married and no kids.
This means I have more free flexible time than some of you.
I don't see how others do this, as I cannot imagine doing this while working for someone else and coming home to house full of kids, school, and family needs..

The last time I took an exam during the summer of 2016, the AC in the Prometric center gave out and internal temperatures were about 90 F.
Sweating buckets and my computer heatstroked once, to be reset by the Prometric people. That was a hard day, and I am dreading the possibility of taking FAR in similar conditions.
I've thrown everything at this last exam and lived in the library for the free AC the past 3 months. I'll hit it with the kitchen sink, but I'm still missing a number of MCQs in this second testbank I started recently. FAR might go into the bathroom and hit me with the cast iron tub.

My hat is off to you applicants having to do this with family and work. I find it brutal even as an older applicant who has some flexibility and support.

Mtaylo: got your score and are back studying for FAR?
[profanity off screen]. I was afraid to check on you. You've been one resilient T1000 and I hoped most sincerely that you'd be done.

That bums me out a bit. Florida summers are always brutal mean season for a lot of reasons, and I'm a bit burned out by work and study.
I was hoping for a bit of hero news that you finally cleared it. You're resilience has inspired me when I was ready to pitch it in at one point.

Those that have taken FAR already and received a passing score back, how many hours did you study? I feel like I'm taking too much time studying. I keep pushing back my test date. Now, I'm shooting for Sept 8th. Any helpful strategies? I'm using Becker.

I just found out I got a 68. I put in about 180-200 hours. The sims are just crazy, and the really hard part is you can't practice anything like them because they are brand new.

I have heard a lot of people saying not to undermine the governmental accounting section. I also have heard miles wide, but inches deep.

Does this mean that complicated topics like reconciliations are not likely to be tested? And that figuring out which fund to use, or using the modified accrual method to determine revenue?

More or less, rather than tell me what exactly the questions are, I am trying to get examples of the difficulty. Some governmental that ask which fund is which take 30-45 seconds, but some require calculations take up to 2 minutes.

@benjamin17 A mile wide, but inches deep…maybe for the MCQ section, but that is definitely is not the case for sims. They can go a mile wide and a mile deep.
