I spend some time going through notes and problem areas and whatnot, some of the time going through MC. I do 60-90 MCQ per day, in the form of Becker progress tests all chapters. Compared to a lot of other people it's not much, but I couldn't really imagine doing more than 90 a day. I think part of it is that progress tests take a little more out of me since I can't see answers right away and have to go through them again to see what I got wrong

    AccountingBeans,

You couldn't be more accurate with #2, I think the anxiety and doubt during the 1.5 months that I don't know my score will weigh on me so much more than if I were to give it my all for the last week. Then atleast I can be honest with myself and know that I was prepared, and make future decisions based off of that.
Thank you so much and best of luck to you on FAR!

Anyone have any good test/quiz with solely questions about IFRS/GAAP differences?

Taking FAR on Wednesday. Finishing up some topics I struggle with today and going to do as many MCQ as I possibly can tolerate. Any suggestions for tonight and tomorrow? Think Tuesday I will just do light review in morning and maybe just do MCQ during the day and all of my flashcards. Wednesday morning I will read over notes for 15-30 minutes. Anyone have something they really felt good about doing in the last few days of doom?

@jwalk Did you study for SIMs? How was your mock exams? I'd study as much as you can today and maybe tomorrow morning. Don't study tomorrow afternoon/night. Just relax and get some sleep. I'd say reviewing flash cards or notes Wednesday would be fine but at this point, what you know is what you know. I dont think the brain will be able to learn something new and be able to remember it if it's on the exam.

I'm getting so lazy and procrastinating about studying. I am studying but taking many short breaks. I just can't seem to concentrate or stay focused. I just did some questions on Becker chapter 10 and I made some stupid mistakes and some mistakes because they confused me by their wording. When they write governmental fund i was assuming they meant governmental wide, not just the GRaSPP.

Hey guys I'm about 30 days out from my exam (August 29). I'm currently starting FAR 6 in Becker. My thing is that I think I take WAY too long to study. I copy the Skills Practice, when I get MCQ's wrong, I write down how to do the question, and when I do the SIM's, I copy the solution and write down how to do it. These are efficient, but I think these methods are wayyyyy too time consuming. How can I cut down my study time but still study effectively? I don't really get much out of the lectures and the only thing I get out of Skills Practice is the JE's.

Many people are taking the exam in the next two weeks. Can we all summarize what we've heard or learned from prior test takers to help?

Also, does anyone know how many pretest questions there are in each testlet? I know one SIM will be pretest and they will ignore.

@job895, i would say skip the skills practice. I did and i think a few people here said they did too. now i hope it doesn't bite me in the ass lol. if they only help you with JEs, I would say try to get the same knowledge from the lecture videos. Most of the time, they cover JEs as well, maybe not in detail but you can pause to review. I always try to envision what the JE would be in my mind, even if they explain the JE.

I think the SIMs would give you the account name so i dont think we have to worry. It's just a matter of envisioning what you're trying to DR or CR (P&L or BS, NI, or OCI, etc..) I know it sounds easier said than done but skipping the skills practice can save you time.

I also skipped the SIMs. Many have said the Becker sims are no where near as long and hard as the actual sims.

@DeterminedCPAer Oh wow I had no idea the Becker SIM's were nowhere near as hard as the actual SIM's. My firm covered the Final Review for Becker so I'm going to do that about a week and a half out from my test.

Has anyone mentioned the comparability of NINJA's SIM's to the actual SIM's?

@DeterminedCPAer so i got a 68 (74 on retake) and another 68 on my mock exams. Not terrible…but I felt like I made some dumb mistakes and learned alot from the big mistakes I made. Hit hard this past week the topics I did not do well on for mock exam #2. I have not gone over the sims really. Figuring from comments it will not help much. I did re-do a few though to help with JE for some topics (leases, etc.). I am going to work for a few more hours today and do a lot of MCQ then tomorrow morning probably study 2-3 hours then cut myself off! As you said…if I don't know it now I probably wont know it for test. But I know there are some things hanging in the back of my mind I want to review that I have made note of.

Should I do SIMS? You will be fine. When is your test? Some of the GOV questions really do have tricky wording…rephrase..the whole CPA exam in general does sometimes. haha.

    Best of luck all!
