    So I take the exam on the 25th…. currently in the review stage (started on Monday), its been pretty awful so far. Moving through one section a day, doing roughly 200 MCQs throughout the day (split into 6 testlets of 33 each to simulate exam).

    Dont worry about the review stage (is what im getting at), if you went through the material like you were supposed to, did all the questions and watched all the lectures, you will be fine. I felt like i started from scratch a little when i looked at F1 on Monday, but by the end of the day everything was clear again! This exam is brutal, but as long as you leave yourself adequate time to review at the end and actually review, youll be fine!

    @jwalk So you didn't end up getting NINJA MC? I have audio though and listen in the car and stuff, that helps too. Only reason I save my practice tests till the last week is because I view them more as a final test before the exam. I take one maybe 5-7 days out and one like 2 days out. They give me a good indicator on where I'll stand come exam day. If I took them earlier I wouldn't know enough, would totally bomb them, and would kill my confidence I think.

    @frankrsa How are you doing on the progress tests? Do you feel you're getting a good variety of questions, or is a lot of the info repetitive? Also, how do you like not seeing answers till the end?

    @accountingbeans

    I'm doing fairly well on them. My lowest score so far is an 80 on a practice test taken in the review stage (after reviewing that chapter throughout the day), and highest being upper 90s. I feel like i get a good variety of questions, yeah. Certain chapters have more questions though, like, F1 has 220 in the test bank, so i got a fairly wide variety from there. F2 only has 133, so i saw a little more repetition… I'm also ok with seeing similar questions on the testlets. Surely the program throws these questions at you at a higher rate because they are more commonly tested on the actual exam? Well, that's what i think anyway!,

    I actually prefer not seeing the answers till the end! That way I dont get frustrated if I miss something silly, or just miss a lot of questions consecutively!

    @frankrsa That's awesome, I'm jealous. I'd be happy to be anywhere close to that 🙂 Whenever I feel down on my scores, I just remember that I got a 58 on one of my REG practice tests and still got a 75..

    @accountingbeans,

    Ive locked myself away from the real world and plan on living/eating/sleeping cpa until this evil is over… Thats the only reason! When i was moving through the material at first i was not getting those scores on the HW…. its just repetition.

    Either way – good luck with everything, and yeah, that 75 is badass!

    How are you all preparing for DRS simulations? I am really worried about not getting enough prep on it. I am using Roger.

    I took my FAR exam today… and let me tell you. I felt pretty prepared for the MCQs, nothing I had not seen before. However, the SIMs were definitely harder than Becker. I don't know what I could've done differently to prepare better, but I guess I will find out in September if I passed or not!

    Hi,

    I was wondering if anyone has tips on information retention. I know this maybe a stupid question but, I was powering through chapters and decided to take a break after chapter 5 and go back and do some progress tests and type out hand written notes. Needless to say, I was blanking out on questions from early chapters. What should I be doing consistently to ensure I keep all this information.

    @ctran16 can you confirm that we should focus on journal entries in order to prepare for the simulations?

    I honestly dont know what I could do to secure a pass. I just keep finding myself postponing this nightmare. I moved my exam 1 week back again 🙁 The Sims are so scary from what I have heard. Being the last one I can't afford to fail. Otherwise I will have to retake 2 instead of 1.

    @ctran, without disclosing too much could you tell me more about the SIMS? like how is it “insane” as I heard many times. FAR being my 3rd time I obviously lack a Big piece of info to fill in the 75. Any help would be great.. Again, not violating any rules if you could just tell me more about the SIMS. Thanks!

    I'm sorry , I was not clear enough.i have not taken any part of the cpa exam , I just made the decision to take it, So I have heard a lot that I should take far first, and honestly I wanna study 4 weeks before the registration to test my self.I am originally from Egypt and I moved to USA 4years ago. I'm eligible to take it by my degree but many people told me that I will not be able to pass it. They said it is really hard and the language will make it harder to me .i really need help , it will be a changing point in my future if I could make it.
