Question: has anyone ever sat for two in one testing window? For ex, to sit in the beginning of Oct for AUD and then begin studying BEC asap after, and sit in the end of Nov. is that doable? and that is if I don't have to sit for FAR again next qtr-_-

@vinti Note that studying is currently my full-time job. For FAR I've given myself 2 months before taking the test. This builds in a 2 week review portion. I study Mon-Fri 5-6 hours a day typically and review a bit on the weekends when I can. So all in I'm putting in ~30 hours a week for 8.5 weeks.

@vaheen two in a testing window is pretty common. I'm taking FAR late July and AUD late august. GL

@vaheen ,BEC and AUD or FAR and AUD doable but FAR and REG it's difficult. Many on this forum have done 2 section in one window.I saw F8 in your signature , that's excellent progress.Just 2 more chapters.Keep it up.

@panic I'm sitting for all 4 in the Q3 window starting with FAR July 3rd. I'm confident I can pass at least 3. I'm studying full time until I begin working in October.

@panic@now That is how exactly I recommend people do. Do at least 2 section per window, if possible FAR/AUD or BEC/REG combo. Take one with less content and one with more complex one. I did my FAR retake and AUD in Q2. Now just playing the waiting game.

If you can really truly stomach it, people have tried a hail mary with FAR, BEC and AUD in one single testing quarter.

@CoachEmUp I am about a little over a week behind you on the Wiley material…I'm entering the bonds and stocks portion now and just finished up impairment. Definitely not looking forward to pensions. I'm scheduled to take FAR on 7/31 what about you?

@2017CPA I'm taking it 7/25, but I did a bit of a reverse order in Wiley sections. I actually started with Government/NFP Accounting (Module 4). I had no experience with it and wanted to lay a foundation there I can review before coming back to it 2 weeks before the test. So I'm technically on Lesson 169 of 233.

Happy Studying! Pension stuff was really difficult. And it was with a different instructor… I've gotten used to Pam and really enjoy her lectures and how she teaches. The pension guy wasn't my favorite… he was a bit goofy like Roger in Roger CPA is.

@CoachEmUp Pam is one the best. Easily one of the top lecturers of CPAexcel. The one you're referring to is Prof. Black. Sadly he covers all the “hard” topics like pensions and leases and income taxes in FAR.

@Anthony His name is actually Craig Bain. Or as I said everytime I see him: The Bane of my existence! (Drum rim shot)

They must have switch instructors. I used the old version of CPAexcel. Hated the new 2017 version that they rolled out.

@JAStansel – I'm not a note-taker so other than jotting down some key formulas or pneumonics, I don't really take notes. I watch the video lectures first, complete the reading and work through the textbook questions. I don't watch his lectures explaining the class questions until I've tried to work them first so after I work the textbook questions, I watch the class questions videos. I then complete all MCQs leaving any I get wrong for later review. Any areas I struggle with, I go back and watch those lecture sessions once more. I then set up a multi-section review quiz to keep previously viewed areas fresh in my mind. I include the current session questions I missed in this process. On the weekends, I review 3 – 5 sections that I've already completed including Roger's MCQs and Ninja MCQs for those sections and the TBSs. In some cases, if I still struggle – like Foreign transactions that I have zero experience in a 20+ year accounting career, I turn to other sources such as Accounting texts, AICPA website, etc. to gain a better understanding.

One thing that really helped me was using the Roger Cram Course text for my weekend multi-section reviews. I'm hoping to get through Roger MCQs twice and Ninja once with extra time on trouble areas within the Ninja MCQs.

I am currently working on F6 in the Becker review. Throughout my studying there have been many formulas to use to calculate some of the questions. I was just curious if anyone knew which formulas we should definitely memorize?

@wannaFree, thanks! I'm actually taking Roger but though a list of topics would help.

For those using Roger, would you suggest I stick to the Roger MCQ, or purchase the NINJA MCQ. My exam is July 23, I'll have the material done by Sunday, then I'll be focusing on MCQ and review.
