@tphil wow those are some nice results, I take the exam this saturday and last saturday i took the first Becker practice exam and failed it :-/ . Testlets score from 57-67. My plan is to just jut go through and redo all the questions in homeworks I have marked(which are ones I got wrong the first time) in sets until i get above a 80% on one goes through then move on to next section. After redoing marked question for one chapter i go to wiley test bank and do a 20 question quiz(covering all topics)- quizzes I usually fail. Very arbitrary process but just trying to saturate my brain with this stuff.

Have done all the MC only once and only done 2 chapters worth of SIMS. Redone the marked question for chapter 1-5, now to do marked questions for chapters 6-10.

After doing a bunch of 20 question quizzes gonna look at the progress report on wiley and see which areas I'm really weak and concentrate on those.

I just finished F6 (in Becker it involves Pensions and interperiod tax allocation) and it blew my mind away! I was pretty good with the first five chapters but oh man!

I'm worried now because I did 11 homework questions and only got 5 right…this chapter is so confusing!

What does everyone suggest for the day before the Exam? My exam is Friday and I'm trying to get a game plan for Thursday.

    @NYCaccountant I just memorize picture number 3:

    FOREIGN – remeasurement – FUNCTIONAL – translation – REPORTING

sometimes functional is foreign so no remeasurement, and sometimes functional is reporting so no translation

So basically if the functional currency is the same as the the reporting currency then it's remeasurement? If it's remeasurement, gains and losses go to Net Income? If functional currency is different than reporting currency then it's translation? Translation goes to OCI?

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!
AUD - 99!!!!!! CPA exam complete.

@Cardea I'm testing Friday too and I'm pretty burned out right now. I'm planning to take a Final Practice exam today. Then on Thursday just read over notes on what I had trouble with on the test, nothing too hard so I can have that “fresh” feeling Friday morning.

@NYCaccountant yeah and I guess sometimes it can be both like if subsidary/foreign currency is yen but functional is euro but reporting is US$

@Monir Pretty sure we aren't. 🙁 Wiley books are free to swap/sell, but I think WTB is non-tradeable license. Not 100% sure, though.

LOL I'm sorry I just had to pop in to comment upon this but it's just…funny in an alarming sort of way (…well I guess more like I feel deranged after seeing it).

I'm just finishing up the Equity section in Becker (F7) and did anyone else notice that one of the questions they give you to practice is NINETEEN MINUTES LONG?

Of course I'm sure (mostly) that such an extended question wouldn't pop up on the exam (maybe in several parts) but doesn't thinking about it make you hyperventilate?

But I'm seeing that a lot of people are saying that the actually Becker questions/exams are a lot more extended/difficult than the actual exam…so I hope that's true on my test day as well.

@ZSRizvi what kind of question is it? I just read chapter 7 again today and i cant remember and cant imagine a question that takes that long.

It's part of the lecture. Number 13 when Olinto goes over the Statement of Cash Flows. I haven't gotten to the question yet since I'm watching the lecture but I'm guessing it has multiple parts?

Unless Becker just made a mistake in the timing of the question…?
