@CPAisforme I feel that way every exam, so don't think too much about it (yeah right lol, like you can do that). But seriously, every time feels like crap. If you're anything like me, you're going to undervalue your performance no matter what. Maybe it's because I did really well in school, and on a raw-scored 25 question test, getting four questions wrong was bad news; it's kind of hard to shake that mentality that imperfection is death. I don't know, but try to relax more than I've been able to over these past few months.

Sorry for triple-posting but it feels good to let that out. Every time I complain to friends/family I can just see in their eyes that they're thinking, “you passed the first three by a wide margin, stop worrying you pansy.” This site has been really helpful.

@StephAV how long is it taking you to rewrite your notes? When I rewrote them for BEC I took 8 hours per section! But I was definitely writing too much then .. I know rewriting the notes is really helpful b/c you can condense the info into a meaningful sequence but I wish there was a way to do it quicker, especially with all of the J/E's 🙁

    - passed all 4 exams on my first try using Becker!

I probably took more notes on the first half of the sections… And I've been doing mcq. I probably have like 100 pages front and back of handwritten notes? I guess actually writing them isn't what is taking so much time it is that I look through the chapter too, do some mcq… The last two weeks I'd say I put in a good 25-30 hours a week of studying and I've probably done around 200 questions in that time as well as rewrite half of my notes. So in 50 hours I have rewritten about half my notes and completed 200 questions. In the next 2 weeks I'd like to do 1000 mcq or more… I've been doing lots of note taking too while going through the questions, I know that is slowing me down too. So if I can average more like 30 questions an hour, I should be able to get to 1000 in a little over a week.

@mypetmeatball: Thanks for the encouragement, but I'm still feeling depressed. I went to another thread to try to see some of the people's experiences of taking it, and it looks like, I'm the only one who didn't know that if you get 2 research SIMs only 1 is good, the other is a pre-test (whatever that means) 🙁 This worries me because a: I didn't know, and b: I didn't do well on the other research SIM at all. Also, don't think I did well on any of the SIMS as well. 🙁 I need to program myself to prepare for another round of FAR studying….

ughhh, this whole process is drivin me nuts. I finish the videos with writing notes, then to do mcq's, the ones I get wrong I write notes, then reviewing the chapters, that's more notes. Now it's time to rewrite notes, I would just rewrite ninja notes, but I am afraid of missing something that I need to remember. So what do we do, where does this end……..I haven't taken my test yet. 7.31. OMG

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to pass

Sooo I must admit. I just finished my practice exam, second one. I did poorly (58%) overall, but I can't help being encouraged by that as the first practice exam I took while studying last window was a 42% and I scored a 72 on the real thing. If I can get 30 over my practice exam like last time, I'll be sitting at an 88. Yeah right!! Still nervous. Anxious. Stressed. Nauseated. Only 8 more days of study time.

@mypetmeatball, I know how you feel. I've passed the other 3 with 90s, but I don't think the other sections compare to FAR. I was never overwhelmed to this degree by any other section. I've been trying to speed up getting through all the lectures for the 1st time but I typically take 1 week per chapter. Hopefully I can finish F8-10 faster, I am currently working through chapter 7 homework and my Exam is on 8/31.

You are well ahead of the game, my friend. Hopefully we go into the exam and destroy it, so it will forever be known that 1987 was the best year to be born.

Do you guys think 9 hours is enough time to get through the F10 lecture and MCQ's since there's like 300 questions?

I have been on a slight hiatus from the forum and a little bit from studying. Vacation and preparing for vacation took me out of my groove. I'm back in now and will start reading, rewriting and listening to the notes tomorrow. Also will start on MCQs. So far everything in the lectures looks simple enough, i think my issue will be remembering ALL 10 chapters! Hopefully i can hammer it in and keep it there until the exam.

Man, I wish I got 80% on my second pass through of the MCQs. It was more like 65%. Heck, I would be grateful for that now. With 2 days left to study, I'm averaging right around the 70% mark on 90 MCQ progress tests in both Becker and the Wiley TB.

I plan on reading the NINJA notes once/day, doing one Wiley 90 MCQ progress test/day, and finishing my 2nd rewrite of the NINJA notes (20 pages left) with my final two days.

I won't bother with the SIMs for this one as I didn't for the other tests either. I think time is better spent on doing MCQs and reviewing the material.

My next post will be in the experience thread on Friday. Good luck to those taking it this week and those still studying!

Ugh, translation vs. transaction! I need to read up on that again. I just got a question on Wiley and the answers were 2 with translation and 2 with transaction and I thought there was an error, didn't see that it translation and transaction are 2 different words until I got the wrong answer of course. RTFQ!!!

    Hi all,

I just started studying for FAR (using becker). My test date is August 30th. Wondering if anybody wants to keep in touch the next two months regarding study techniques, confusing questions, etc. I am highly motivated to pass!
