@Mike1987. Glad to know I'm not alone. I contacted Becker and have been emailed several times saying they are working on resolving the issue. They told me to try deleting my browser history but that didn't work. So I'm waiting for someone to get back to me and do a screen sharing session so they can see what the problems is. The homework and lectures is the only thing I can work on right now. And the only progress summary it shows is for Audit…….which I am not taking right now.

I like Jeff's ideas for remembering those ratios… I'm at 2 more weeks officially. I'm still rewriting my notes. I've been contemplating just rereading them to leave more time for multiple choice. I'm about half way through the the notes and I've been doing the mc in Roger's book as I go and I've done some on the Wiley Test bank (162 questions) and maybe like 30 from my Wiley book. I've been listening to the Ninja audio a lot over the weekend. My 5 year old might just be able to recite some of this stuff by the time I'm done.

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

@Jeff I love your Blitz video series! I wish I could have them all, but I only purchased the NINJA notes (didn't need every part of the 10 Point Combo). The series would really be a great tool to kick off my final review that starts next week :-/

@StephAV it sounds like you're ready to nail down all of the concepts you learned in the book and audio by doing two fun weeks of hundreds (thousands?) of MC questions! I am exactly three weeks from my exam date (starting F8 today) and doing everything I possibly can to have two weeks of straight up review, which I find to be the “make or break” study period.

Thanks DannyB! That is what I'm thinking it is time to just go all out on the mcq… I don't want to abandon the rewriting of my notes, but I don't know that I'm getting that much out of it.

I agree with DannyB too. I would feel a lot more confident if I had two weeks of full review instead of one.

@mypetmeatball, I'm sure you will be fine regardless since you were starting to get 80% on your 2nd-round with the homework. I finally saw my first real 80%+ in F7's first section of homework since F1…

Danny – you've purchased 2 ninja notes, roughly the price of a Lite Combo — shoot me an email.

HI everyone! I'm finally in the home-stretch (I'll be finished with all MCQ's on Wed the 10th). Do you guys think 3 weeks is enough time for review considering I haven't touched the SIMS yet? I also need to write out notes for every chapter but I'm afraid that's going to take FOREVER. What are you guys doing during review? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

    - passed all 4 exams on my first try using Becker!

    Ethics: TBD

@Tanaya – Rewriting my notes is taking me FOREVER. Maybe I'm writing too much? I've rewritten half the notes and I feel like I really need to just get going on the mcq. I have 2 weeks. I started rewriting my notes like 2 weeks ago. I've been doing mcq over those sections after I rewrote them. I guess if I keep with the same pace I would finish everything by my exam date. But rewriting the notes is taking away from my mcq time… I don't know what the right anwer is. I have heard people say that doing as many mcq as possible is key though.

So apparently I forgot like 80% of government accounting while reviewing the earlier stuff. Feels good, man.

@StephAV I feel you on that. I've only taken one exam, so take my advice to whatever extent you want, but I rewrote the entire NINJA Notes for Audit, and found it to be tremendously helpful as an introduction to my final review. I believe that I benefited from this so much in Audit because, for the most part, the key to passing that exam is memorization. On the other hand, I do not think that I will be rewriting the entire section of NINJA Notes for FAR mostly because of time constraints, and also because I know that the only way I (not speaking for anyone else) can nail down certain concepts is by doing MCQs and analyzing why I answered each one correctly/incorrectly. Perhaps I will try typing the notes instead of manually rewriting them, but I'm not sure yet. There are so many tough decisions that need to be made to stay on track in preparing for FAR!

@mypetmeatball I agree that if you are averaging in the 80-90% range for your second round of MCQs, you are golden! I would not worry too much about time, especially because every candidate is different. Personally, I know that I need every second of that two weeks of review to reach the 80-90% level for each section. If I were you, I would take comfort in the fact that if you're getting that many questions correct at this point, it might not be worth waiting an extra week to take the exam, as some of your knowledge may slip away.

One of the personal debates I'm having is whether or not I am going to practice SIMS outside the practice exams to prepare for FAR. I only did a few SIMS for my AUD preparation (just to get a feel for them), and had no problem getting through them during the actual exam.

The bottom line is that FAR preparation is just a terrible, terrible experience and no matter how many weeks of review we have, or which techniques we pursue, we (as human beings) will never walk into that exam feeling 100% prepared for every subject. However, we must keep in mind that every single candidate for this exam is in the same boat, and we are still going to, as our boy Timmy G says, “knock these questions [or exams] out of the ball park!”

So I'm a newbie here, but have been lurking for a while ever since I started this CPA journey looking for some answers. I finally went ahead and sat for the FAR this past Saturday, and boy, was I floored! The MCQ's were ok, but the SIM's were something else! I just felt like crying after the exam. I spent a LOT of time studying for FAR, spending more than 40 hours last week and at least 2-3 hours everyday for the last 2 months.

    Anybody else had that experience?

For what it's worth, this is why I'm nervous though:

When you take questions in order, you have an extremely unfair advantage — the advantage being that you have read answer explanations and had material similar literally seconds before doing a given question. Like yeah, I knew that government-wide F/S statements focus on operational accountability, but does getting that question right truly mean I know anything? I got it right because I had a question on the focus on fund accounting three questions ago. lol I'm such a worrier, I need to cool out.

My girlfriend got me a gift certificate for a full-on royal shave with the straight razor and 45 minute treatment for the day after the exam. It's all I can think about. I've been growing a beard through this entire process; I look like a caveman and I'm tired of rotting at home all day. I just wanna get through these three days so damn badddd. I don't want to get out of that test center thinking I failed and have to worry for another few weeks. I'm done worrying; I just want to live my gat dayum life already.
