    Hey everyone-

Could use everyone's opinion.. I recently failed FAR with a 62 and I plan to retake it by July 31 so I can be done with studying. I felt pretty prepared when I took it last window so I'm not sure which study method to use this time. I studied with Becker last time but was considering Wiley Cram pack for this time. Any suggestions on re-studying / review courses?

Good luck to all of us!!

Hey, I'm new to this forum; planning to take FAR July 1st. I was suppose to do it in May but didn't put in the time. I need to finish FAR and BEC by July 27th or lose REG. I've been using Roger, does anyone else have experience with that?

    AUD-76
    FAR-7/1
    BEC-7/26

I'm already behind on my study plan for FAR. I need to really get in check with my free time. I'm finding it SO hard to study with the weather improving! And the fact that FAR is miserable.

    R - *77*(02/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    A - 71('11); *87*(04/'13)-Becker & NINJA
    F - *76*(08/'13)-Becker & NINJA - "server upgrade" survivor
    B - 60('11); *82*(10/'13) -Becker & NINA

    DONE, DONE, AND DONE.

    CPA in Massachusetts; issued 01/24/14

Don't feel bad Neika822, I am fighting hard to stay focused. Today I took my son to pick up his car. My adult children are home from college so I decided to stop at the coffee shop and study. I have my books and computer with me. I feel so good that I made an impromptu decision. I'll stay at the coffee shop til about 6:30 or 7pm (cst) and then go home. The point is just find a way to get it done.

I am going to join in, this will be my first time sitting for FAR and first time sitting for any section in about 7 years! I'm one of those people. I graduated 8 years ago, started in public accounting, got totally burnt out and decided my career was not my priority, got married and now have a 5 year old and a 1 year old and I work as a senior accountant at a NPO. I have a new boss and he is encouraging me to do this and I want to. I've realized I do want to progress in my career, I'm not happy with the stagnant state of it and passing the exam is going to open so many doors for me.

I'm using Roger's course and I have a plan to pass all 4 parts by 11/30/13 because I'm also in CA and if I don't I'm looking at taking more college courses to get up to the 150 unit requirement. I'd have about 16 units to get done. It wouldn't be the end of the world, but it is a lot of incentive to knock this out.

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

    @StephAV,

There is so much incentive that I refuse to pass it up. I want to get into public accounting after 16 years of running my own small bookkeeping/tax business.I I am really hoping the cpa firms won't look at me as “too old”. Nevertheless, I will get it done.

I'm in the same boat Neika822, can't seem to find the motivation to study for the last one. Still don't know my REG score yet, but I'm hopeful that I passed. Not sure if I have enough time to study as I will be working offsite all of June and traveling a couple of weeks in at the end of July. Might have to push my test to October.

    Updated study plan:

Go through Becker videos while following my OLD notes for FAR instead of re-writing new ones (for the sake of time and efficiency)

    then re-write NINJA notes

MCQs til I just can't stand them anymore…along with SIMS (i hate SIMS)

    rewrite notes

    more MCQs

    rinse, and repeat.

Urgh I'm trying to find the motivation to get started with my first lecture NOW but I soooooooo don't want to:( I'm already a day behind starting….

Trying decide how to tackle this, NINJA way and get through all the lectures and write out notes (should take between 1.5 to 2 weeks to complete this) OR follow the Becker format, Lecture then HW….either way the amount of material seems overwhelming and I haven't decided which method I prefer yet :/

    AUD - 90 Pass
REG - 70,61,81 Pass DONE DONE DOOOOONNEEE!!!!!!!!
    BEC - 79 - Pass
    FAR - 70,82 - Pass

so1913: I'm doing the NINJA way and speaking as someone who has already studied for this the Becker way TWICE, I'm liking the NINJA method way more…it's easier to manage the amount of material IMO

Hey everyone, starting FAR and shooting for early to mid July…. Just one question, I have Becker review course 2012 version does anyone know if that's sufficient… is there any new material not on there? Or old material that I don't need to taking up memory space?

I also have the NINJA 10 point combo..

    Please help, thanks in advance!
