I'm using Roger CPA Review and Gov and NPO are the last 2 chapters… I might have to skip ahead. I feel like they should be easy for me. I work at a NPO and did NPO and Gov auditing before this, so this is where a majority of my experience is. But you guys have me worried…

I was working on the Deferred Taxes chapter this weekend. I did not get a lot done… 🙁 I think I forgot my headphones today too. UGH! I will probably just run to the closest drugstore and buy some.

Oh and the partnerships, Roger says they are very lightly tested.

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

    Edit: nvmd…too annoying to format

Becker Ch 4 optional question dealing with net markups and net markdowns. Markups were included in the ratio calculation but not markdowns and I do not understand why.

What components of accumulated OCI are reported net of tax? I can't find a list anywhere in Becker. Is it the same for OCI as accumulated OCI?

    BEC: 93 4/18/13
    FAR: 89 7/3/13
    REG: 90 8/30/13
    AUD: 95 11/29/13

    DONE!

@WestonM I think it's the same as OCI because AOCI is just where OCI is closed to. So there wouldn't be a requirement to have them net or not, but you would have to disclose the tax treatment. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

    BEC - 83
    FAR - 83
    REG - 74, 78
    AUD - 76

Hi, just wanted to comment based on my experience on the percentages the AICPA & the different CPA reviews post on what % & what subject comes on the exam, I would give them a 0 ( F ), up to now what they had said was to come very little has been the highest being tested.

    FAR 88 BEC 84 AUD 87

    Good Luck

The neumonic for OCI is PUFER ( These are net of taxes & end up in S/E in the AOCI, the format for OCI is similar to R/E, Beg, current & end). The end is AOCI.

    PUFER

P = Pension funded status change

U = Unrealized gain/loss on available for sale security

    F = Foreign translation adjustment

E = Effective portion of cash flow hedge

R = Revaluation surplus (IFRS oniy)

    Good Luck

@Joey so in short everything from PUFER is net of tax?

    BEC: 93 4/18/13
    FAR: 89 7/3/13
    REG: 90 8/30/13
    AUD: 95 11/29/13

    DONE!

Has anyone gone through all of the chapters yet (Becker)? If so, which chapter(s) did you think was the toughest?

I'm hoping they don't get much worse than F2 and the end of F3 >_<

    - passed all 4 exams on my first try using Becker!

@tanaya – I personally feel that the first 4 lectures were the easiest and they progressively became harder, with F8 and F9 being the toughest.

Keep at it! You'll be fine.

How are you guys scoring on the WTB?

I've only done a few sections and I'm scoring ~60%… not too happy with that but I am studying the question.

Hopefully I can bring that up to 80% in the 2nd run through.

    AUD: 8/28/2013

Hey Guys! It seems as if everyone is busy studying which is really great. I find myself in a rut. I haven't studied in a week and a half. The weather is so nice out and my kids want to play so I have been dropping the ball. I'm trying to find the motivation to get back in the swing of things but everytime I start the lecture I zone out.

I am in the middle of F2 and I don't know if it is this chapter or what but I can't seem to get back into it. I am wondering if I jump ahead to another chapter and come back to that one if that will work. Not sure if I need all the foundation from F2.

At this rate I don't even remember what F1 was all about. Uhhhhhh……

@Qlad & @Adrost .. that's exactly what I didn't want to hear lol. But thanks for the encouraging words! I guess the bright side of things is, with each day of studying I'm another day closer to being finished 🙂

    Hello everyone,

I don't usually post but I think now is a good time to start. LOL. I took reg in May and I was too happy with my score (72) 🙁 but I did rush it and the sims killed me. Ok I am over that now, I am trying to study for Far I scheduled my exam and then cancelled it. I just can't seem to get past F2 (using becker btw) Financial is usually my strong point and tax is my weekest that's why I took reg first. My main problem with F2 is the timing issues, I have done all the MCQ but I feel like I am just memorizing the answers and I still don't know what the crap I am doing and this is suppose to be the easy stuff right!!! I'm just frustrated right now, can't seem to get in to this at all. I even thought of switching to either AUD or BEC but I have decided to stick with FAR (b/c i'm a crazy accounting major). It has to get better, right? I noticed many people on the form have had many problems with governmental. I took a governmental class in college and my professor was awesome. The best advice that I can say with that in order to get it to stick with you is “Pretend you know nothing about financial accounting, cause modified accounting is completely opposite of financial” So when you are doing the HW for that section think to yourself, what would I do in Financial and then do the opposite. It works. Ok sorry for being soo lengthly and complaining tomorrow will be better. 🙂

    FAR - Soon hopefully
    AUD - after FAR
    BEC - after AUD
    REG - 72 - after BEC
