    Getting very anxious. I have 27 days left til exam day! Been working on Wiley homework questions at work/home and all my notes (typing up Roger book in my own words) are almost complete! I also have the PDF of Becker final review 2013 that I compare with my notes and re-write if needed. I am stuck in traffic most mornings, so I do Ninja flashcards for about 15 minutes on my iPad.

    The next three weeks I have to be on auto-pilot just studying nonstop. I am going to Napa Valley from Friday morning the 21st – Monday night the 24th for my best friends 30th birthday. I have to have everything completed and am bringing my iPad with all my notes with. Ah! I think it will be good to take a break from MCQ and read over notes and just do flashcards, then have Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday morning to clarify anything additional and do random MCQ.

    Also, it's just so funny when people ask when my exam is when I say I am anxious, and I say the 27th, they are all “oh you have pleeennnnty of time, you will pass”. If only they knew.

    Can anyone help out with this question?…

    On February 1, Year 1, Davis Corp. issued 12%, $1,000,000 face amount, 10-year bonds for $1,117,000. Davis reacquired all of these bonds at 102, plus accrued interest, on May 1, Year 4 and retired them. This type of transaction is considered a normal part of risk management for Davis Corp. Unamortized bond premium on that date was $78,000. What was Davis' gain on the bond retirement?

    a. $39,000

    b. $19,000

    c. $58,000

    d. $97,000

    Explanation

    Choice “c” is correct. $58,000 gain on bond retirement.

    So I get why the answer is c. $58,000 with their explanation, but shouldn't you have to take the accrued interest into account? Becker never even mentions it in the solution.

    I just took FAR this morning and am feeling sick to my stomach about it… The first two testlets weren't terrible but the last was definitely tough. The simulations were difficult, as well, but I did finish them all. I tried to remember questions that I wasn't sure about and looked the topics up after the exam. This was probably not the best idea because now I am focusing in on the ones that I know I got wrong. Ugh. It's going to be a long month.

    BEC-86 12/2/13
    FAR-77 1/31/14
    REG-88 2/27/14 --> Done!!!

    I don't know about this one guys…Just took FAR…it was definitely the hardest part I've taken so far, just felt totally brutalized by the SIMS especially. Wiley was not nearly as helpful as I thought it would be…..MCQ's I didn't think were that bad….Hoping I did well enough on them to get me through the SIMS…..3 weeks from Monday for scores
