I really wish I could figure out a way to take FAR at the end of February. I just don't see how it's feasible with work and family. Anybody got a study plan for 6 weeks that has a job? I don't have Becker so topic names would help if you wouldn't mind posting your plan here, including whether or not you watched videos and/or read the book. My studies start today as soon as I get off work. Tuesdays and Fridays the kids will stay with my parents while hubby works so I can study basically from 6-11/12 both of those nights and I can study Saturdays as long as I need to. I haven't touched any of the material yet, but I have Kaplan videos, the Kaplan book, the CPAexcel books, the WTB, the Ninja Audio, and the Ninja notes. I spent 2.5 months on each of my last two tests, starting slow and really increasing my study time over the last month. My parents will watch the kids whenever I need, but I don't want it to be every night. Is this doable or should I just wait until April??

teeteenounouche, Im taking it the same date as you (feb28). I will be done with NFP in two more days, and then I will cover a few topics on CH. 10 (miscellaneous). After that, I will be done with all 10 chapters. Final review is when you go back to all the chapters you already covered, right>? Which chapter are you covering now?

CPAMommyof3, I couldnt tell you. The last time I tried to do this while working 55 hrs it did not go that well.

Well, I have to catch up to you then CR7, lol This week I am studying Bonds, Pensions, Receivables, Liabilities, Leases, and Equity.

CPAMommyof3, if you want to give it a go and take a chance like I'm doing, you can adjust my 8 week plan to 6 weeks: read and take notes for 3 weeks and 3 weeks for MCQs/Review and note taking of every question answered in WTB. The Ninja notes have a six weeks study plan also. I am not watching videos because I would fall asleep. I am studying after work and on the weekends but not as long on days that I have to work late.

Let me know if you want the exact topics I am studying each week and I will list them…on my cell phone right now…

Thanks! I think I'm going to try to meet the 6 week deadline and just reevaluate that in a couple of weeks. I watched 3 hours of video tonight and I did forget how boring they are. I'm going to take your advice and just read the book and take notes for a few weeks. It's not the end of the world if I have to postpone it, but I would prefer not to. On the bright side I may be able to breeze through a couple of chapters because I do some of this stuff for a living. It definitely boosted my confidence a little to go over accounting for AR/Bad Debt/Inventory as my first night of studying. Dreading bonds and securities and despise TVM.

@samdiegoCPA–I'm in the same boat, but I still have REG to go. I wanted to knock out one of them during the first testing window. I'm just going to start studying and see how far I can get in the next few weeks. That will determine how ready I'll be in Feb. If I don't feel good about it, I'll just keep studying and take it in April. It's not ideal, but it's an option. Good luck with your studies. Keep us posted.
