AnonymousInactive@teeteenounouche thank you responding. I am taking “fact nuggets” when I get a question wrong and I review them along with Ninja notes. I will take your advice on going over things a bit more to clear my understanding. As much as I want to get through more as I feel so behind, there isn't a point in rushing through all of it only to not have absorbed anything. I see you're using WTB too, I have had success with it for AUD and BEC. Looks like we are taking the exam on the same day :). Good luck! And I hope we both post under passed!

Julia_anikaMemberHi everyone!!!
Yesterday I sat for FAR. It was a miserable experience. It was my second attempt to pass this exam, but I'm pretty sure I failed again. The first sign that I failed is that the testlets didn't get harder. I'm not saying that testlets didn't get hardred because I answered all questions easily.. no.. questions didn't get complex. Most of them (on all 3 testlets) were just 1 sentence long and almost no calculations (probably about 7 questions had calculations). Questions were easy and, still, I didn't know how to answer them. When I sat for FAR for the first time I could easily tell that the 2nd testlet was harder just by the structure of questions.
I studied so much before the exam and did a lot of wordy and difficult questions from WTB. And I believe, that type of questions give you more points on the exam. But… I never got to see them during my exam.
2 questions threw me off completely. For instance, if you are asked “how much is 2+2?” you know for sure it's 4.. but there is no answer choice “4”. I spent like 15 minutes staring at one of such questions. Then just decided for myself that it was one of the “fake” questions.
Also, I felt like they test a lot of secondary concepts in Accounting. For example, I spend some time on loss contingencies, and almost no time on gain contingencies. It seemed pretty straight forward, why waste time on gain contingencies? I had 3 questions about gain contingencies on the exam and none about loss contingencies.
Two of my sims were for NPO!!! There were more questions on NPO than on governmental accounting.
The first time around I studied for about 3 weeks before the exam and got 72. This time I spend 3 months preparing for this damn exam.. I studied through holidays, and spent little to no time with my 5 month old baby (thanks to my husband who was the only one taking care of the baby during that time).. and I feel that my score will be even lower!
I was so broken down after the exam yesterday.. just wanted to sit on a couch and stare at the wall….
Now I need to put myself together and start studying for AUD.

MassCPA2014MemberDoing my own review with 5 days until I sit for the test. Basically, I'm reviewing in the book and then doing a lot of progress tests from Becker for each section. Through 5 of the sections, I'm averaging around 80-85% per section. Should I be nervous that I'm not around 90 at this point, this close to the exam? I know it's close to impossible to remember everything, but should 80-85% be a cause for concern?
