Hello! So FAR for the fifth time, and this time I am going to pass. My plan is to just keep doing a final review and practice questions. Based on anyone who has had a tough time with the exam and has passed – do you think doing 40-60 Multiple Choice Questions per night and reviewing my notes/flashcards is enough? I have about 20 days to go (3 weeks).

Anytime, Zieba … that same question confused me too the first time I studied it a year ago.

    Licensed Florida CPA:
    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

    Hi everyone,

I'm taking FAR for the first time in a little less than a week and feel like I'm in OK shape at best. My two big questions:

    1) What should I do to prepare for the simulations? I've heard that they can be pretty tough and I was curious if there were any tried-and-true ways to really prepare for them. I use Becker, so should I just memorize how to do all of the ones they provide?

    2) How should I be spending this last week? My plan is to split the time evenly between the practice tests and review of all 10 chapters (reading and MCQ), but again, if anyone has a final week prep strategy they feel strongly about, I'd love to hear it.

    Thanks!

    FAR: 86
    AUD: 88
    REG: 85
    BEC: 84
    DONE!

    To MassCPA2014,

I am not sure there is a specific way you can prepare for SIMs. I would say…do as many as you can so that you familiarize yourself with the system and with the process. In the end, as long as you understand the concepts and how to put them into practice, you are good to go. There are some people out there who keep pounding on MCQs because they contain the concepts you might encounter in the SIMs. Personally I felt that it was important to spend some time on doing some SIMs so that I get familiar with the big picture. DO NOT MEMORIZE SIMs! There is absolutely no sense in memorizing the ones Becker or anybody else provides for you to practice. What is important is to make sure you understand what they are asking and what concept you are supposed to use.

    Best of luck to you!
