    Be careful. Only deduct the CUMULATIVE preferred stock dividends (WHETHER DECLARED OR NOT). When it is NONCUMULATIVE preferred stock dividends, only deduct when DECLARED.

    yes but the question is worded weirdly, it says which one is included? shouldnt it say which one is subtracted?

    i picked dividends from common should be included cuz theyre not subtracted?

    I disagree, included in the computation, just means an element of the formula, meaning what do you need to know to figure this out.
