QuinacridoneMemberI know that feeling SamDiego CPA. I took today off and am going through all of the questions that I've missed (I copy and paste any question that I miss during homework into a word document then I go back to it throughout my study time) and making sure I can get them, and then going through all of the previous AICPA released questions that I can find.
I'm frustrated with myself because I keep catching myself making STUPID mistakes in Bonds. Its beginning to freak me out some.
Are you testing tomorrow? I'm testing at 1:00.

AnonymousInactiveFor those who have tested before, any section…
I'm feeling weak on Gov/NFP and business combinations. I think I could manage my way through 75% of the medium MCQs and 50% of the difficult MCQs on these topics…the SIMs are likely a different story. I do well with coming up acronyms for things I struggle with and repeat them over and over in my head until I get to where I can sit down and write them down, then I fill in any additional info next to each letter in order to have a reference when needed. So I'm wondering:
-How long was your wait from the time you checked in to the time you received your pads for working on?
-How long from the time you received those pads was it until the exam started?
-Have any of you ever done anything like this? If so, did you find it useful?
-What do you feel are your “must know” acronyms/mnemonics for FAR?

KNMCPAParticipant@Bummie Every testing center may be different. I actually went in a half hour sooner than my scheduled time. I never read the first few screens as I am already familiar with them. Becker teaches you a ton of mnemonics. You never know whats going to be on your exam so I would recommend memorizing all of them. Governmental mnemonics are important. GRaSPP(Governmental), SE (Proprietary), PAPI (Fiduciary).

samdiegoCPAMemberThanks everyone! I test at 1:01pm (yes, this is true)
My Prometric is never busy and I can go early if I want and be sitting within 10 minutes of parking. One time, on a Saturday, I had to wait 5 minutes to be called back. I always laugh when they say “Is this your first time?” NOOOOOPE I AM A PROFESSIONAL HERE!
My governmental nmeunomics are from Roger: PD Consents to Smoking Grass (gov) and I PIPE Alot (P and F)… then Ninja helped me remember IE for Proprietary. I always just remember Permanent is for Gov and the other P's are for Fid. Yes, this all makes sense in my head, haha.

AnonymousInactivehahaha those for Roger are different! I'm using Becker so I'm good on the 3 gov funds. I think I struggle more with NFP than gov. The only thing I have going is that it's accrual based, so I just use common sense on some questions. It's the composition of the financial statements for each that really gets me. If I get by without a SIM on that, I may be okay. I'm liking this AL idea for the SIMs as well. That may save me where I'm lacking.
My next challenge will be falling asleep tonight. Anxiety is increasing by the hour!
