    @hopeimnottoolatetobeacpa You're always going to forget material that you learned earlier 1) because it was some time ago and 2) because there's so much in FAR to remember that you can't remember everything. So during this review period you should try to bring up things you already learned and strengthen those topics you're struggling with. You'll continue to learn as you go along. Also when you get to something you don't know don't panic, close your eyes for a second to calm down and then look at the question again.

    I'm back at F3 now and I am just stunned how hard (or nearly impossible) to recall the prior learning I had about this topic 2-3 weeks ago. I am recomputing most of the examples given instead of just reading the text. I even needed to play the video so it would make sense why the fact nuggets were in red ink or highlighted.

    QUESTION:

    Let's say in Yr-1, when AFS securities are impaired {other than temporary decline of individual security below cost}, losses are recognized in I/S. What happens if in Yr-2, FV of these AFS goes back up?
