Hello everyone, I am new here. My first exam (FAR) is tomorrow. I am using CPA Excel study course.

I definitely feel like I can pass the one minute to “I am going to fail” the next. I do not know everything, but I do know a lot compared to where I was when I started.

    P.S. Any advice for a noobie? =)

Good luck to everyone and I will let you know how it went and what questions I had.

Good luck! I don't think you can tell us what questions you got but definitely tell us how it went!

As far as tips, get a good night's rest, eat a good breakfast, don't forget your NTS, IDs, and a snack for a small break 1/2 way through your test, and BREATHE!

Something I like to do is as soon as I sit down, write down in your scrap paper the words I WILL PASS! 😉

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

Thnks a lot Melcpa and Amay for your help. I am so stupid even posting the second question here. I am feeling embarrassed now. As for the reconciliation of taxable income, I think I need to do lots of MCQs on this to understand this completely. And u would say I have already passed REG, I should have down this by now but ….:P

    REG 81
    BEC 74,65,78
    FAR 79
    AUD 85 DONE!!!

    Great advice. I will pass!

And I did just re- read the test instructions so I now know to not release the info about specific questions.

    Thank you very much!

On chapter three in FAR, Becker.

I am confused on the available for sale questions. Securities were re-classified from trading to available for sale. I am given the fair value at the time of transaction as follows:

    Date of re-classification $150,000.00 12/31/2001

    6/30/2002 : $125,000.00

    12/31/2002: $100,000.00

What should be reported in year 2 Income statement. I thought it would be the difference between year one and year 2 (loss of 50K) Yet the answer is saying this would be 25k (delta from 12/31/2001 and 6/30/2002).

    * These are not the amounts used in the equation.
