@andrianashch01 & tncincy. I'm not in a big 4, but my opinion is to develop a study plan (make sure its realistic) and stick to it. Take a nap before you start studying if you need to (one hour works for me) then take a shower and begin the process. WE can do this!

I'm watching the lectures from Becker, currently on chapter 7. My plan is to have lectures done before Dec 25 and then concentrate on each section following the Ninja study framework. I'm hoping to pass FAR on my first try :0)

@MintsRGood Ch. 10 Becker consists of all these smaller topics that are still covered on the exam but by the time I reached it first time around I felt quite winded.

Fair Value, Partnerships, VIEs, AROs, Liabilities, Contingencies, Subsequent Events, Financial Instruments, Review of IFRS vs. U.S. GAAP, and Liquidation Basis of Accounting

@tncincy and @adriana – i was studying for REG during busy season last year (at a top 10 firm). It was extremely important to get as much done on the weekends as humanly possible. Also – make sure you have a schedule written out and hold yourself accountable, but also, like Ale said…make it realistic. If you don't get home until 8 or 9pm, only do a couple sections of a chapter instead of trying to get a whole chapter done. If you have flashcards, do those in your downtime (if you ever have any). It was helpful for me to actually work on taxes while studying for REG because it was related, I'm not sure the same will be true of FAR for you all, but if you learn at least one thing at work that you can relate to the CPA exam, that's a win and you'll likely remember it for the exam.

Mountain Dew was always my friend when it came to staying awake to study. Best of luck to you both. It's no easy task, but if you stay focused and do the work, you CAN and WILL pass!!

    Illinois
Becker self study | Becker flashcards | Gleim | self written notes | WTB

    AUD - 74, 75 Passed! (Expires 1/2/2014)
    BEC - 78 Passed! (Expires 2/6/2014)
    REG - 70, 70, 72, 74, 76 Passed!!
    FAR - 72, 66, 69, 67

Dollar Value LIFO is one of the most pointless topics in financial accounting. It's a PITA to compute and tremendously boring to learn. That is all! 🙂

    REG: 75 DONE 🙂
    AUD: 61, 71, 68, 92 DONE 🙂
    BEC: 76 DONE 🙂
    FAR: 72, 74, 79 DONE 🙂
    Licensed Michigan CPA 🙂

@MintsRGood: I just finished that part of F4 today. Everything else on that subtopic was pretty easy, but that was just ridiculous…

@Mints, thanks for making me laugh!

I've been working on Dollar Value LIFO this week.

    CPA (MA, Non-Reporting)

The difference in winning & losing is most often, not quitting - Walt Disney

    B - 33, 71, 79!
    A - 32, 61, 70, 83!
    R - 33, 58, 73, 69, 81!
    F - 47, 78! 🙂
After 3 long years, I'm finally DONE!
I could not have done it without NINJA MCQs.

Used: Roger for his Videos, WTB, and NINJA Audio, Notes and Test Bank.
