Oh please please please, can I get a question on my exam that says, “What is the basis of all economic activity?” I've heard it at least 10 times. It's too bad I can't commit all the audio to memory, but I've got that one down pat. 🙂

Non-monetary is in Fixed Assets, Installment sales and Long term contracts should be in basic concepts for revenue recognition.

@Wannabe – the cumulative effect of a change in principle = retrospective application. You have to adjust the beginning value of retained earnings. That is the main rule to remember – “adjust beginning RE of earliest period presented”

so.. say comparative FS are presented for 2011 and 2012, you would adjust beginning retained earning of 2011. If comparative FS are not presented, you would adjust 1/1/2012 RE.

    hope that helps!

    AUD: 65 - 76 DONE
    REG: 63 - 77 DONE
    FAR: 65 - 63 - 67 - 69 - 73 - 71 - 83 DONE

So, as per Becker, the presentation of comprehensive income has come down to 2 formats from 3.. Statement of owners equity being prohibited by IFRS already and for GAAP was going to be prohibited from 12/15/12 whereas the live class i attend of becker the instructor said take it as not prohibted still… What is the update on that is it really prohibited now or not??
