I don't know because this is my first time taking it. I only remembering seeing people stress Government and NFP. You may want to go to the thread called “FAR Exam Experience” and scroll through to see what people advise others to focus on based on their exam experience. Another way to judge could be by how many questions are in your test bank for that section. If a section only has 15 questions then it probably isn't covered much on the exam.

Side Note–I have gone through every eraser on the 3 pencils I am using to take notes. I am now using a little puppy dog eraser that my 4 year old got out of the treasure box at school. This is my life–be very jealous. hahaha

I think you'll be surprised how much the audio and looking at your notes will help you during test time. I recalled several things from the audio while I was taking my last test. Anything you can do to absord the info will help.

4 hours into Government accounting and I just have to say….this sucks! They should have a specific accounting certification just for government accountants because I don't care about any of this stuff aside from passing the exam. I have no desire to ever work in governmental accounting, which is making it really hard to care about truly learning this stuff. Okay–rant over.

@Zack I don't have much of a solid study plan seeing as though I'm already employed in Public Accounting and its busy season 🙁 but I use the Becker materials. I've spent the majority of my time reading the chapters and doing the MCQ homework and simulations at the end of each week. Now that I'm down to less than a week, I've done countless Comprehensive Progress tests (as many as 100Qs and as few as 25Qs right before bed). I've also downloaded the Ninja flash cards onto my phone for random moments of downtime throughout the day (ie. car rides, waiting in line, etc.) and I have the Wiley Test Bank kindle app which I use when I'm too tired to pull out my laptop, or am laying in bed [tempted to browse social media websites 🙂 ] helps to solidify the answers. And during my long commutes I blast the Ninja Audio. I'm averaging about 60-70% across the board even with all of that material… but some concepts I just don't understand. I'm just praying that my 65% average lands me atleast as 75% on the actual exam . ***fingers crossed***

    AUD - Passed (4/2015)
    BEC - Passed (5/2016)
    FAR - Passed (2/2015)
    REG - (Retake 8/2016)

please explain this question from EPS .i always get this wrong…i cant understand the computation of 2nd year Weighted average shares outstanding

Strauch Co. has one class of common stock outstanding

and no other securities that are potentially convertible into

common stock. During year 1, 100,000 shares of common

stock were outstanding. In year 2, two distributions of

additional common shares occurred: On April 1, 20,000 shares

of treasury stock were sold, and on July 1, a 2-for-1 stock split

was issued. Net income was $410,000 in year 2 and $350,000

in year 1. What amounts should Strauch report as basic

earnings per share in its year 2 and year 1 comparative income

    statements?

    Year 2 Year 1

    a. $1.78 $3.50

    b. $1.78 $1.75

    c. $2.34 $1.75

    d. $2.34 $3.50

    Ans is b.

    @Wannabe

    YR1: (350,000) / (100,000 * 2) = $1.75

    YR2:(410,000) / ((100,000) + ( 9/12 * 20,000)*2) = $1.78

(Treasury stock re-issued increases C/S outstanding as of April 1 -December 31 (9/12 mos))

I feel like Becker is pretty vague on this – I don't really like how they explain it or how they show the stock dividend/split examples either.
