Test on Thursday at 9am. I am studying governmental because of the horror stories, but does someone else have any other input on where I should put my brain?! Other chapters, I mean? I use Becker.

I think IFRS will be a biggie. I spent some extra time on it yesterday and feel much better.

I wish they would have a section just on IFRS on the test banks. would make it so much easier to study for it.

@MCKLT, how are you studying for IFRS? I have just tried to remember the differences between GAAP and IFRS, do you think that is sufficient enough?

Aw man.. I forgot the Oscars were tonight, guess I'll have to DVR it. No pain no gain!

    Wow. Just got out…

I have a feeling I'll be in the FAR family for a while. I feel terrible…and not terrible in the “that was so difficult” way but the questions just kept getting more basic and i just kept forgetting how to answer them because I was expecting other topics.

Oh well, what can I say… I didn't study nearly like i had planned and made way too many excuses. This has by far been the worst exam experience I have had.

HOWEVER!!! Keep powering through all of you -you have all been a million steps ahead of me so don't let my experience reflect your studying!

Im still in the damn parking lot, sooo im going to go home and grab a drink. Be back later.

    @cpahopeful

cpareviewforfree has 25 IFRS mcq that I think were helpful. Wiley book (2011, IDK if the new editions have it) has a summary of major IFRS v GAAP differences in the front and a detailed portion at the end of each chapter.

I created a spreadsheet using the first two. I may go through each chapter and just reread the summaries one last time.

Um…. I think I've been doing enough questions because I'm to the point where I hate every single word of every single problem and I want to punch my computer monitor, lol. Dear Lord, please let me pass the forsaken exam.

@Hustlin celebrate that its over, at least. were all rooting for you! enjoy the night and chug that beer

@MCKLT thanks, I have the wiley 2013 book and i have been reading the section in the beginning on IFRS/GAAP. I will probably go back and read each end up chapter summary, too.

I know what you mean on the questions, though. Each time a paragraph long question comes up …UGH. I especially lose my mind

I took FAR yesterday. Overall I wasn't surprised by any topic. I used Wiley and Ninja Notes and felt like they were adequate coverage for the questions I received. I was particularly concerned that I wasn't prepared enough. I have been working 50+ hours per week for the last month and didn't really have much quality time for study. I can't really say that I noticed a difference in level of difficulty. Testlet #1 was what I consider medium, Testlet #2 medium, Testlet #3 medium. SIMS not too bad. One on a topic I haven't seen in a SIM before, but manageable. Felt confident I got the Research question. I had 2 hours 37 minutes left for the SIMS. I took my time, went back over them, didn't change anything and exited the exam with 27 minutes remaining on the clock. The fact that I completed the exam with so much time remaining scares me a little, but it is what it is now.

    Now the wait….

@banks – sorry I missed your earlier question. I don't know about the sims no entry required choice. I'm just going to read and reread the instructions and hope it all makes sense on exam day. I really REALLY try not to leave anything blank.

    quick question far fam –

Are available for sale bonds reported at amortized cost or fair value?

I thought all AFS is fair value with unrealized gain.loss to OCI.

But Wiley says AFS Bond is at amort. cost.

    Any help?
