FAR – Scheduled 2/28/13

I actually started studying two weeks ago with Yaeger/Wiley test bank. The instructors are great! I'm going to invest a few cases of redbull to fight the fatigue after work. I purchased Ninja Notes and used the schedule to plan my studies. Anyone who says this is easy is definitely out of their mind.

@Melans: The only reason that FAR for Becker has 10 chapters now is that they pulled out all the “ancillary” material from each chapter and moved it to a new, separate chapter at the end. Pretty sure it's the same stuff.

I got 70 in FAR on a first try.. Can any body help me how I can prepare and from where.. should I start from scratch?

Finally finished 4.2 yesterday. I have been scoring anywhere from 72-77 on the MC”s, I guess that's good enough to move on for now. I'm hoping to finish F4 and begin F5 this weekend.

I absolutely HATE bonds!! I don't understand them and I don't really care to understand them but for exam purposes I guess I have to put my differences aside and get to know them better. =|

Also I purchased the SIMS from cpareviewforfree.com for $9.99. I looked back at my last FAR score and realized I got a comparable in MCs and Stronger in SIMS. The only way I'm going to pass this time is if I get another strong SIMS score.

I am still having trouble keeping IFRS & GAAP straight. Anyone have any suggestions?

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

Still a little behind, aiming to get through F5 and part of F6 by weekends end to get back on track. This would leave me 2 weeks of review at the end still. This material is pretty bland though! Hard to stay focused.

@Melans, I am also using Becker 2011 materials and plan on doing FAR in the next window. I guess I will have to review the ancillary material in more detail. Glad I am not the only one using 2011 material.

I hate FAR! I am having serious motivation issues here, 3 weeks to go, taking test on 1/5 and it's not looking good. It's so hard to study being a mom to a two year old, and being tired all the time. Thanks for letting me vent!

I hate FAR too. Its like never ending exceptions and IFRSs to memorize. Too many information to put into my small brain.

I am also a mother of a 7 month old baby girl. It is deinifitely challenging to study… but I guess our motivation can be our babies? Study hard.

Hey glad to have another mom to share struggles with. I have been sleep deprived for 2.5 years now, because I chose to co-sleep and night-nurse, so most days I feel like I operate at 50%! Man is it hard to get this info into my brain too, so much to learn. I wish you luck studying also. Congrats on your 80 for BEC, I hope I pass a section someday 🙂

Hi, I am a new member of this forum. I was qualified to take the exam in July but haven't been able to study for the tests yet. I plan to take the first one next year and been searching for some helpful advice. Came cross this website and I am interested in the discussion rooms. Most people said that the hardest test should be taken first and it seems like FAR is the one. I am unable to afford expensive materials so any advice you could help me on finding good study materials would be really appreciated. Thank you and Happy Holidays to you all.
