MCLKT – this is harsh out of love… Weren't you the one who just yesterday told me you couldn't imagin studying for 6 more weeks! Let's kick our selves in to high gear and kill this test! We can do this!

    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

One more question for anyone using the Wiley Test Bank… Do you think the test bank for FAR is worth the $ if I am only able to use it for 2 weeks prior to my exam? Thanks.

LSNYC <3 thanks. I know, I know. Thanks! I'll just have to flip the switch and get into “fuck calm, get angry mode”.

@Loch/Nam and all you others, way to keep the group on track. We have got to get passed this.

@benkdevries – Totally worth it. I plan on getting my money's worth in the next 2 weeks. The software is great. If you feel comfortable working out of a book, it might be more reasonable to get the book and work those questions. Especially if you are financially in a bind.

    @benkdevries

I used the test bank for the week before my exam.

I've got the 2011 test banks, but I'm wondering if those won't be sufficient for the 2013 exam?

If not, guess I gotta break down and buy the ipad app… at least that's only like $35 :-/

@bfrizzell – the biggest change in FAR from 2011 is the Qualitative Characteristics. And some thing with Goodwill impairment I believe. Probably worth the $35 to get updated material.

So after I finished F9 last week, I decided to start reviewing F1-9 before going to F10. Well I'm going through it now as quickly as possible since I only have a few days left and it's destroying my confidence.

I'm going to take a full practice test tonight to see where I'm at. Hopefully it doesn't demoralize me even further as I've heard the becker practice exams do that to people.

    Hi Everyone!

Lurker, but just joined. Sitting Feb 27, and just starting my final review now, getting nervous because going back to older chapters and doing the mult choice I am noticing how much I have already forgotten ๐Ÿ™

Since there is a little over 2 weeks away from my test, what do you all recommend on doing? Just doing multi choice over and over so I get reacquainted with the topics? I'm feeling a little overwhelmed right now.

Actually, my brain is just feeling so scattered. Like I'm mixing up the different rules between IFRS and GAAP (in general),

When to record OCI or operating Income, all of the little rules for investments, and I haven't even done a review on SHE-EPS. It's seems like every chapter I look over, I'm mixing little details up and it's freaking me out.

I scored a 45% last night. WTF FAR? How you gonna do me like that?

Almost like I need to take a step back, chill, and put it all together. But I feel like I'm running out of time.

    CPAhopeful, actually described my feeling.

I need to go back and rewrite notes, as I didn't complete that task last week in full. :/

    Hi Everyone,

I am confused on a wiley bond question. I would be extremely thankful if anyone can help!

On July1, 2010 Eagle Corp, issued 600 of its 10% $1,000 bonds at 99 plus accrued interest. The bonds are dated April 1, 2010, and mature on April 1, 2020. Interest is payable semiannually on April 1 and October 1. What amount did Eagle receive from bond issuance?

    Answer is 609,000

Why is the interest expense calculated as (600,000 * 3/12*10%) and not (594,000*3/12*10%) since in amortization table we always use the Carrying Value (Book Value) times the market rate.

    Thank you again!!!

Edited because now I'm not sure. DAMNIT I hate bonds.

Interest expense is calculated on bond face (600,000*.10*3/12) = 15,000

    the JE looks like this

    Cash (plug) 609,000

    Disc 6,000

    Bond payable 600,000

    Interest exp 15,000

    REG-65,71,74,73,70,74,79
    BEC-60's,60's,69,71,76*,78
    FAR-67,66,65,79
    AUD-54,60's,65,83*,69,80
    *expired

    DONE
