@peetree : Quick question: Do you practice optional questions in each chapter and how long it takes you to solve 90 mcqs?

    Thanks and happy studyingxx

I am wondering if the practice SIMs are actually hurting my confidence and not helping. I work the whole thing out and seem to understand and then when i check it i have one thing wrong and it just kills me. I am almost debating not concentration on studying them as you cant really prepare for them anyway (IMO), you can only lean and understand the material and hope you get ones on testing day that make sense. I feel almost like the questions confuse me with one item and that huge red X kills me confidence even if everything else is correct!

    Sorry for the vent session!

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

@NAM Definitely have been doing all optional questions. I feel like those are the questions that Becker places all the AICPA released questions which lead me to believe they've been finding there way on to exams as of late.

For time, It takes me anywhere from 1.75 hrs to 2.5hrs to get through all 90 questions, sometimes quicker if I have more conceptual questions (under 2 hrs) closer to 2.5 hrs if I have a lot of computational problems. I think it will all depend on the difficulty of my testlets (I hope they get more difficult :D) and the relative difficulty of the questions compared to the becker questions. I've heard that the becker questions are harder but I do NOT want to go into exam day feeling over confident.

    Starting F7 tomorrow morning!

Any word on how difficult/tricky it is? Any tips for the chapter that might help me through it? I can see Stockholders' Equity and EPS being pretty rough actually.

Either way, I'm ready to tackle some of F7 tomorrow!

F-7 is pretty straightforward you should be fine with most if not all of it. Just pound out some treasury stock journal entries and you'll be good to go @lbi.

There are a couple of nuance type things like “WASCO” and some tricky points with IFRS cash flows but it's nothing that can't be easily memorized.

I have FAR on 2/23, I am getting in the 60 range on my multiple choice tests. I do not feel ready for this exam, I want to take it on the 23, but am afraid of failure. I do not want to postpone the exam. I am hoping someone can give me the kick in the ass I need. I am trying to not think about failure but find myself saying if I fail I can retake in April….bad motivator

    16 DAYS. Oh My.

I feel my brain is mush again… maybe a good sign?

I somehow closed out of my practice exam yesterday and didn't save it :/ I was only 45 MCQ in, but I didn't have the heart to start over. Plus, I don't think I was doing well. I'll try again on Wednesday.

Tonight I'm reworking Consolidation, Bonds, Leases 🙂

    Keep it up Fam.

LSNYC – I didn't feel prepared for my AUD exam and ended up postponing it only 4 days. I'm glad I did. If you really don't feel ready and there are openings, it's something to consider. How can retaking it in April encourage you NOT to study. The thought of studying this material another 6 weeks will give me nightmares! I sooooo want to be done with FAR in FEB. 🙂

You guys make me feel so behind! Super happy and proud of everyone though. I still have two weeks left and need to finish going over NFP and Govt.

I don't feel confident at all, but my only hope is to get an understanding of the top layer of everything now and hope for the best…. Pretty disappointed in myself that I haven't been grinding it out this month. Let too many opportunities pass and just burned out.

@NAM I agree I get a lot of motivation from the boards, I think I'm just stressing out, I need to remember I can do this, and keep pushing

@MCLKT I sure don't want to study for another 6 weeks! Its hard for me to take the exam during the week inless I do it after work which I find exhausting. I guess for now I will keep my date and hope for the best…. I just need to decide start studying for REG or wait for my grade…..I know jumping a head but I'm a planner

Tonight is just reviewing notes for me, I have a charity event about 45 min subway ride from my office so will review both ways. I doubt I'll be motivated to do to many MCQ when I get home 🙁

    A - 61, 91!!

    Hey Fellow Far studiers!!

I'm glad to hear everyone had a productive weekend!! Mine wasn't as successful as I hoped. my mother is home for the week (I currently live at my parents until I can save enough for my own home). Usually both of my parents are gone( they are over the road truck drivers), but they have been home alot lately.

I find it hard to concentrate when other are home with me, and I live in a really small town so there isn't really anywhere else to study at night, (plus I am an auditor so we are traveling alot and not at the office for the next month)

Anyone have suggestions on how to keep focused when others are around?

Thanks and keep the studying up!!

Tonight plan: Finish EPS problems and do cash flow lecture

    Audit 10/2012- 77
    Reg- 1/7/13- 82
    Financial-2/25/13- 78
    BEC- 74,66,81!

    License pending : )

    Ethics- Passed
    Experience- Done

I was able to get through all of F10 last night and have finished up my second run through of all homework and simulations. (If you have the time, I suggest this. The act of going through it again really solidified a lot of topics in my head and gave me a good working knowledge of most topics)

I woke up this morning early so I can get a full on 90 question practice exam over all the material. I was able to stay off book and get a 94%!!!!!!! I was even tired too! There was one question that asked what type of method I should use with 40% of non-voting preferred stock and i chose equity method……..because I was tired and dumb 😛

Good luck this evening with studying guys. I'm gonna keep cranking out 90 problem practice exams all week. If i can keep this same average of scores after the 10 practice exams I have scheduled, I think i'll be good to go come exam day.

Fuck calm and get ANGRY everyone! I'm looking at you @LSYNC! Waiting till April sounds horrible, lets kick FAR's ass now and get it out of the way!
