Yeah, that's what I figured. I do have the personal time to study and that's exactly why I am studying so much.

It just seems like I will have the whole month of March to review basically – I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

That's perfect. final month: Week 1 rewrite notes. Week 2 focus on weak areas. Week 3 do overall practice exams and fine tune knowledge in lessor discussed areas. Week 4 do MCQ and SIMS until formulas, mnemonics, and all things FAR are drilled into your brain and you are dreaming FAR dreams. Especially focus on major topics and review your weak areas from week 2. You should be doing progress tests the whole time to know where you are and how you are doing.

Thanks for the reassurance! I will be spending tomorrow doing a comprehensive progress test for Chapters 1-5. I'm planning on taking 30-40 question progress tests for each chapter. That should give me a good indication as to what I am struggling with.

@MCLKT, thanks! I really hope so. I guess what really scares me is that I've never taken a part before, so this anticipation is killing me.

That's understandable. I've sat 3 times now and I still get nervous. BEC was my first, and I was just clueless when it came to studying. I barely did the assigned homework, much less additional MCQs (74). AUD was when I started doing extra practice, but I didn't leave myself enough time for a final review, so I didn't really “know” all of the material (73). I ran out of time when I sat for FAR and got the 74. I just totally lost track during my SIMS. I ended up putting 0's in 3 of them. THREE SIMS all ZEROS! And I still got a 74. I should have passed that one.

The practice software (Wiley at least) does such a good job at preparing a candidate. The wording, the material, it's just great to practice. That can't be overemphasized.

I retook AUD and should get my score Tues. This is the first exam I feel like I did everything right, I was ready, and I should pass. I'll be devastated if I get another fail. AND… I'll probably stop offering advice, lol.

Wow, you must have killed the MCQs then! That's great. Too bad you ran out of time though, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure you'll knock FAR out of the park this time around.

I have heard that Wiley provides more simulation preparation than Becker does. Then again, I've also heard that preparing for the simulations is nearly impossible because its completely random. I feel comfortable with Becker to be honest. I like Becker's style of teaching and I think it provides good (but tricky) MCQs.

Exam at 8 am, in full cram mode right now hoping I can catch a few extra points. Normally at this point in time, I am a nervous wreck. For some odd reason I am completely calm. With busy season taking over so much time and the majority of my stress, I actually feel relived to just be focused on my exam today. Hopefully this will be my last CPA exam ever…. Here goes nothing!

So I've been re-working a lot of homework and have been doing pretty well on it. I also took a comprehensive 90 question practice test over the entire FAR book and got a 91%!!! I'm feeling pretty good as i continue re-working hw but I have this weird thought….

I'm currently listening to Daft Punk's Alive album right now (great album btw) BUT! I do work better when I'm listening to music…I won't be able to listen to music during the exam.

Should I be doing this final review sans music to get my head in the correct environment and to more properly simulate exam conditions?

It's soooo funny you ask this! I do both. When studying, music. Full length practice test, sans music. But, I do have a “safety song” that I sing in my head when I get nervous during the exam. This last go it was Swedish House Mafia, Don't You Worry Child.

Music – absolutely. I don't think I could swing the # of hours without tunes, although I do agree that it's good to practice without on occasion to simulate the testing environment. Got a few go-to spotify playlists.

Checking in with my FAR folks and happy to see everyone plugging along.

Still doing MCPs for the next few weeks until test day. Unfortunately tax season is cutting my study time short each day. I'm a little nervous I won't get enough time in.

The plan is to get up early tomorrow and study I can spend time with the fam for superbowl.

    Keep at it everyone!

@nashville79 I listen to a pandora station I found called “classical for studying.” Pretty good, some film scores and the like.

Okay you guys made me feel better.

I'm gonna still listen to music while Re-working hw but keep it silent when doing full fledged practice exams.

I'm sure this has been addressed in the forum previously, but I'm running tight on time. What's the scoop with Becker F10?At this stage, I'll be lucky to get through all 1-9 with a decent review.
