haha ratio sim; that would be awful. I'm pressed for time so I think I'll skip it for now and look it over during my review.

Hi FAR FAM, In the actual CPA test..If you are given a journal entry question and you asked to select the appropriate entries and plug the numbers..If you are sure that all journal are posted and still left with empty boxes..Are you expected to select…”No entry required and plug zero” or just dont do anything?

2014 experience..No more excuse, this is it!

    Finished 10 up yesterday @Nam

Starting final review today. Going to rework all of the multiple choice (gonna try to do all 1500 of them, we'll see), all of the sims this week and next week. Then progress tests/practice tests the week after, then final re-read of the book and flashcards before the exam the following week.

I don't think I would plug in “No journal entry required” and zeros for empty lines. I think in the instructions it says that use of all lines is not necessary and to use simply one “No journal entry required” when a journal entry is not necessary. If you have empty lines in an entry just ignore them. Only use “No journal entry required” once when the entry is not necessary.

@cparunner – how did it go?

I took FAR last Friday, 1/25. I really expected to feel really good or really bad when I walked out, and I basically felt NOTHING except relief 🙂 I know for sure I got ONE TBS correct and that's about it LOL

I suggest studying your JE”s and then everything else was right along the lines of what Becker said would be on the exam. I felt their preparation was very good, and I wish I would have had more time to review and do more MCQ's, but it is what it is!

I am now studying AUD for my exam on 2/28, and it's nice to see something different 🙂

I will get my scores end of Feb/beg of March, so wish me luck!

Let me know if you want to know anything else, besides specifics!

@brynda – I am taking my exam in a week. I have done the MCQs 2x, the sims 1x, rewrote my notes 1x, and made flash cards. What do you suggest I concentrate on in this last week of review? Thanks.

    @jw_83

    First of all, good luck!

Secondly, I would focus on journal entries and IFRS differences…_______…since IFRS and GAAP can't even come to an agreement! 🙂

I took the exam last Friday as well and think it was a very fair exam. I reviewed with Becker and there was nothing on the exam that wasn't at least covered in Becker.

Some topics tested more than others. I didn't even see some of my favorite topics, but it is what it is. I got through the multiple choice in a couple of hours, so I had like two hours going into the sims I think. Since every exam is different, I feel I got really lucky with my sims. All of them were on material and entries I was familiar with. It just seems the way they word the sims is confusing, so I can see how one might be confused as to what they are asking.

I had about 20 minutes left to play on the authoritative literature when I was done with the sims. All in all, I felt a sense of relief just being done and moving onto audit. This being my first exam I don't know how I feel about my chances of passing after leaving the exam. We shall see. Good luck to all.

One tip for people using Becker:

I saw some confusion somewhere on the boards regarding the Sims. What if you want to change what you already picked for your journal entry? When you are doing the journal entry in Becker there is no way to delete what you choose. You can only change it to something else. So, if there is something extra you previously chose from the drop down you cant remove it.

I thought there is no way this can be on the real exam. When I got to the sims the first thing I did was pick part of a J/E I knew was correct and tried to remove it with the backspace key and it worked. You can also remove with the delete key.

Just throwing that out there. Hope that makes sense.

    Hey guys ,

Any tips on – How to stay awake and focused while studying late???

    Participant

I literally go run on my treadmill for 3 minutes or do jumping jacks.

Also, maybe instead of 25 min at a time break it down to 15. I'm all like, “KT, just get through the partnership liquidation notes and do 5 MCQs” I do it, and feel good. Grab a snack or read some A71.

Then it's all, “KT, watch 15 minutes of SHE lecture”.

    Rinse.

    Repeat.

    🙂
