Any last minute suggestions?

I am taking FAR on Friday morning 1/25/13.

I have this entire weekend to do NOTHING but study, and then I work next week every day, should have 2-4 hours each night to study until Thursday when I will leave work early to drive 3 hours to where I am taking my test (registered too late and now can't stay in my own city to do the exam!!). Spending the night in a hotel and rising early Friday morning to get it done!

My plan tonight is to rewrite notes, tomorrow is to do MCQ's for all chapters and SIMS. Then on Sunday start the FINAL REVIEW product I have through Becker. Has anyone here used their final review? Am I allowing enough time for that? If I do it Sunday and the rest of the weeknights I have left?

Hey everyone,

I had a pretty terrible week so I didn't progress much. I'm starting to freak myself out, wondering if I will need to reschedule or if I will ever really understand this stuff. On top of that I have been ridiculously busy at work (even though this is our slow season) and every now and then it really seeps in how unhappy I am with my job…this is one of those weeks. Ugh.

HOWEVER, today is a new start. I am up early and rearing to get started. Plan is to finish up Chapter 3 MCQ finish Chapter 4 too. HOPEFULLY I can get started on Chapter 5 as well.

If I am running out of time I think I might just switch to Wiley and keep doing sections of practice tests until I am at a comfortable percentage?

Is anyone studying with both Becker and Wiley? If so, what is your process? It just takes me so long and is exhausting to do all the questions on Becker and I haven't been scoring well on them….

@hustin! It important for us to understand the concept first .. Don't panic! I had terrible week too but it allowed me to focus more on my goal..

I was away for 4-5 days .. I am back with full energy (Fast & furious).. to be quite honest , i was not givng my full efforts but….. as you said today is new start! I am gona make use of every seconds.

Today I am starting F2 with notes and mcqs till 2am or 3 am ( I don't know) until i finish my goal..

End of the day i will write my Little f 2 notes on this thread, I hope this will help me stay on track.

Thanks for all the openess in this forum, @ Nam @ Hustlinhustlin. Keep on with the goals in mind. Two are better than one because one can chase a thousand & two can chase tens of thousand. I am not using the weaknesses of others as an excuse for my weakness but I am using you both as my motivation to stand up everytime i derail from my set goals, not to let self rejection pull me down but to think ahead and make amendments to my short comings. Stay fresh and let's attack this monster called FAR and the beast called CPA.

Tonight will be an all nighter for me too. Switching up my plan and starting a Cram course today. I'll be checking in between modules.

I have been lacking focus after sitting for AUD on Tues. Finally got the kick in the rear I need when I downloaded one of those countdown apps. 39 days until test day and I'm just beginning :/

Let's vent and lean on one another when we need to. But even better, let's keep encouraging. We all have the capability to pass this.

Use the homework as a studying and learning tool after you view the lectures. I've found that if I score anywhere between 70-80% on the homework, I understand the material and am just getting tripped up with certain parts. If you're scoring under 60% on the homework, you probably need to re-read the chapter or last section.

Then after each section of Becker FAR, I like to take their progress tests over all the sections I've studied to ensure that I'm retaining and actually learning the concepts. If you're scoring between 85% and 90% on the MCQ on the progress tests, you're fine like a TALL GLASS OF WINE! (which sadly, none of us get to drink until after the exam)

Does this seem like an appropriate assumption to all of you other FAR warriors? I know people normally do better on the actual exam than the becker tests but I don't want to waste a lot of time studying only to get a “71”

Late night last night…. finished lectures and reviewed notes. Worked the assigned MCQs on Basic Theory 85%!!!!

I'm moving on to Inventory and Fixed Assets today.

Nam- I started using the Pomodoro Tech. in the fall when I was studying FAR for the first time. It's a game changer. I love it.

I can easily get 12 hours in, keep on task AND retain the info. Glad you like it too!
