AnonymousInactive@Stay_Positive: That's exactly how I feel right now! It takes me forever just to get through the MCQs of one section within a chapter…*sighs of frustration*

HustlinHustlinMemberUgh. Bad day for studying today. I was/am still hungover and didn't get to firing up my laptop until about 3 p.m., which is when my upstairs neighbor also decided to bump his music for the next three hours. I hate feeling so lazy and unaccomplished.
Good news is it is quiet now and I have the house to myself until tomorrow night.
Goal is to finish this chapter and the next (Pensions). 5 hours worth of lecture. Gonna need a whole lotta caffiene, but first….it's burrito:30.
If I can get those two done I'm thinking I can cover the last three chapters tomorrow when my mind is back in the game.
I'll update ya'll later tonight. Never drinking again….

MrsBingMemberI won't be taking FAR in the Jan/Feb window, but will be taking FAR in the Apr/May window and looking for some advice. Do any of you guys think 16 weeks is too long to study for FAR? I was originally going to do 12-13 weeks, but since I've been out of school for 3 years and barely remember anything from college except basic accounting I decided 16 weeks should allow me to go more in depth. I was thinking of studying 20 hours/week for 16 weeks. Also, I'm taking the Becker self-study and there's 10 lectures, about 4 hours each (I think). Do you think it's best to study one lecture/chapter a week, then each weekend, doing a quick review of the previous chapters to keep the info fresh, or should I try to knock out all 10 lectures asap?
This is what I'm thinking so far, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Week 1: F1 lecture
Week 2: F2, w/e a few mcqs for F1
Week 3: F3, w/e a few mcqs for F1-2
Week 4: F4, w/e review F1-3
Week 5: F5, w/e a few mcqs for F1-4
Week 6: F6, w/e a few mcqs for F1-5
Week 7: F7, during w/e review F1-6
Week 8: F8, w/e a few mcqs for F1-7
Week 9: F9, w/e a few mcqs for F1-8
Week 10: F10, during w/e review F1-9
Week 11: MCQs, read notes, flashcards
Week 12: Re-write all notes, and do non stop MCQs/SIMs
Week 13: Re-watch Lectures, MCQs
Week 13: Re-watch Lectures, MCQs
Week 14: MCQs, read notes, flashcards
Week 16: MCQs, read notes, flashcards
Also, I'll be doing MCQs, reading notes, listening to Ninja audio and doing flashcards throughout each week. Maybe every 3rd week do a progress test.

hello_solMember@MrsBing: I think it depends on how quick you learn. I am a quick learner and I got through other 3 subjects fairly quickly but FAR is taking me awhile. I dedicated around 2.5 months to FAR and my text is next week. I still feel like I haven't gotten everything down.
Guys, I don't really know what to do. I have 8 days til the exam and I'm just working on MCQ and 1 sim a day. I'm scoring BARELY over 75% and I have to “cheat” by looking at the eBook sometimes on Becker. I'm not really sure if I should focus on doing more MCQ or go back to reading and getting the concepts down. What do you guys think?

silliepandaMember@ NAM .. it's going. I will finish up to chapter 3 today and hopefully get started on Chapter 4. I HAVE learned that I cannot function during the lectures. I absorb nothing (truly nothing). I always thought in college that I was just bored with the lectures and would zone out, but I think I just can't learn that way. So I am going through the e-book and highlighting/writing down the important stuff which is definitely working better and better use of my time! As you will notice in my signature I have FAR on the 28th of February and AUD on the 26th of February (you probably think I am crazy BUT I lose both NTSs in Feb). I am pushing through and praying! How are you doing?
@ Hustlin – How's it going?

HustlinHustlinMemberMeh. It's going. I have 20 minutes of F5 lecture left but had to call it a night because my focus was just not existant. I'm moving onto F6 today and going to make finishing these lectures my main focus for the day.
You might be right about the lectures, I find it hard to pay attention to them too. But I just want to make sure I don't miss anything.

HustlinHustlinMemberAnyone else have a hard time understanding Income Taxes? I can't decide if I am going crazy from sitting in my “study cave” as I call it, or if it is totally over my head – but I am definitely going to have to go back and work on it.
Does anyone recall if it is more likely that they tell us what the permanent/temporary difference is rather than giving us specific account differences that cause them?
Going to pick up my house a little bit to clear my mind before hitting F7 (beast-mode over 4 hour of lecture), but I have never been so happy to see Mr. Olinto again. again….again….again…again TIMMY GEARTY you are driving me insane! It's like his voice causes my mind to wander off…
Needless to say, I'm gonna have to revise today's goal just to be realistic. Planning of finishing up F7 and will hopefully finish F8 and F9 tomorrow.

LSNYCMemberWell I did not do any studying this weekend. Was supposed to work half day Saturday and Sunday then study the rest of the weekend. Well Saturday I got sick I went to lie down at 3pm woke up at 7 had some soup went back to bed and got up at 7am Sunday! I think it was my body telling me to slow down!!! Then since I got nothing done for work Saturday I spent all day Sunday working and when I got home was still not feeling well and went to bed again at 7pm!
Moral of the story I'm so behind in my studying! And really struggling I am thinking of postponing to Feb 23, if I postpone I add two weeks of studying and then can start REG right after. I think it's the right move for me. Was hoping to take reg early April but that may not happen now… Oh well

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!
