I mean, only with the videos. I still have the 2011 version so there are 9 Chapters. I'm going the Ninja route this time – going to watch all videos and take notes before moving onto MCQ. Then hammer those out, type up my handwritten notes, and keep hammering away.

ohh Interesting! I might try this approach next week since i have forgotten most of the topics 😀

But today I am starting with marketable securities, my plan is to finish this chapter by tomorrow with all the MCQs and notes. I need to put 4 hours today till friday and then 8 hours over weekend. (just like you) .:-))

So lets encourage each other.

Got some very little false hope:

Just took that practice test on the AICPA website and got 4/5 questions right on the MCQ and around 80% of the SIMS correct.

DavidB1990 – That's probably the most accurate representation of the level of difficulty you'll see on test day. I haven't taken the exam yet (will in about a week), but all I hear is how much more difficult the Becker stuff is than the real thing. I took the AICPA sample test too and did about the same. I've found that the best way for me at least was to keep plowing through the material even if I didn't understand something and come back to it. It seems to come easier the second (or third, or even fourth) time around. Good luck, I'm definitely interested in hearing how it goes Friday.

Had this weird question pop up in Becker:

“A company that wishes to disclose information about the effect of changing prices should report this information in:”

I have the answer narrowed down to either “the notes to the financial statements” or “the supplementary information to the financial statements,” and the answer to this question is “supplementary information to the financial statements.” What is the difference between this and the notes to the financial statements? I can't find anywhere in the book that talks about this question!

It's hard to say at this point. I keep having to remind myself to actually pay attention and try to wrap my head around the concepts, no matter how many times I have to pause and replay.

However, I have noticed I am remembering more this time around, and I think NINJA may parallel that thinking, in that, you do overview after overview until it all comes together – rather than breaking it down into every little piece. I think FAR has too many nitty gritty details to remember if you try to master each one before moving on.

But I have to say, I do enjoy the pace. It doesn't feel like it is taking me over a week per section.

Next plan is to review the notes before doing MCQ for each section and doing screenshots with explanations to myself of what I did wrong.

Can't say I am not nervous (already), though. Confidence is KEY!

Supplementary information would be like the MD&A portion of an audit, which is unaudited, where you discuss economic outlooks, significant changes, etc. The actual notes are audited. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong 🙂

@splinter. The notes to financials are disclosures required by GAAP, which effect the current financial statements. Any supplementary is noted by management so that the financials will not be misleading, but not required.

Is my understanding as an auditor, anyway. Anyone correct me if I am mistaken.

My notes are mainly what the instructor says, or what is in the book. This is a bad habit as I should write down MY OWN words and understanding. I try to, but it can be difficult.

Ok yesterday was not very productive. I studied for 1 hour and then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Today: 7.30 pm – 12.30 PM —-> coffee, chapter 3 and no zzzz

so i have my retake with FAR scheduled for 1/11. I have went through everything again since this will be my second time taking this test. Now I am going thru all the chapters mc and sims and hopefully be done with that by Tuesday and that will give me 3 days to knock out progress tests and sample test. I took PTO next week so that I could cram. I barely missed last time so I am hoping to over come and get a 75 so that i can be a 75. The sims are just brutal because you have no clue of what is going to be thrown your way.
