Taking this beast in February. My first go at the CPA and Im getting kind of nervous. I start a review class this Saturday to aid in my prep. I plan on scheduling the exam last week of Feburaury. If I start studying Saturday, it will give me about 7 weeks of prep time. Is this the normal prep time for FAR?

@MJP44 I dont think 7 weeks would be enough for me with a FT job as an auditor and grad school. What I am doing using Becker, besides using my vacation days to add more time, I made a schedule for myself and am allowing myself enough time to listen to lectures, do the MCQ and work out the simulations. No point in cramming in a few weeks as opposed to just re-scheduling for the next window (again something I did). Hopefully it works out for me and I hope it works out for you also! Its also my first time sitting for FAR. I started two years ago but missed my 6 month window, now I am back!

Ok so I will probably post daily as to what I have accomplished and what I hope to accomplish. I have completed lectures for F1 and F2. Since I am splitting my time between AUD and FAR, today and tomorrow are focused on AUD. Friday – Sunday will be focused on FAR 1 and FAR 2. Happy studying all and be back Thursday!

Just arrived in Miami after a long day of travel. I'm taking the FAR section on saturday morning at Prometric here, anyone else scheduled at this time?

I just go over ever MCQ and the lectures till saturday, but I think I'm good prepared.

Taking a 100 progress test every day and scoring in the high 80s / low 90s. I finished the two becker test exams with a score in the middle 80s (but spend only 2 hours per test, so I guess the result on the exam will be better).

Think I will knock this one out. I'm a little more scared of BEC on tuesday right now, but I try to concentrate just on the following section to take all of the four parts in less than two weeks.

Happy New year to ALL. New year with New Start.

I am really looking forward to start preparing for FAR with fresh start and by not repeating the mistakes that i made in my last attempt:

1) leaving three chapters and few topics in each chapter.

2) leaving 3 days for revision.

3) leaving my motivation and determination..

NEW START

Planning to schedule the exam on Feb 14th or 15th.. . taking small steps each day to accomplish the weekly plan.

Todays plan:

7.30pm – 12 pm – F3: to start Marketable Securities

This week plan W/E: 01/06/13:

1) Finish 2.5 to 3 chapters with MCQs .

Happy new year to everyone!

Finally decided I'm taking the exam at the end of February. Gameplan is to keep drilling all of the questions I have until then. Using the 2012 review materials, though, but I hear the content doesn't really get updated until the middle of the year anyways. Today I wrap up a couple of the mini-sections from Becker chapters 2 and 4 that I didn't get around to finishing yesterday. Goal is to get all the chapters done by Friday, and then use Saturday to watch the Roger CPA lectures on the chapters I find really easy to forget.

Happy new year! Was it just me or was it extremely difficult to get out of bed this morning?

Needless to say, I didn't get in my early study time.

I start on F3 today and am going though each video and taking tons of notes in a legal pad. If I can get in 4 hours everyday this week and 8 each Sat and Sun, I can be done and ready to move onto MCQ.

Must….hustle….
