My motivator is a promotion. I'm up for a promotion with a raise my chances of getting the promotion more than double if I have my CPA.

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

@Nam. Good luck with your studying. I am determined to take this exam on the 7th. I have already rescheduled twice and will start traveling for work the following week, therefore, the next sections i'll study while traveling. If I keep giving myself so much time, i'll just keep pushing the studying off till later on and find myself in the same boat. Some folks retain information for long periods of time. For me I feel that 10 weeks of preparing for FAR is enough. Anything longer then that, I begin to forget the material. Im just going to stay motivated, keep the material fresh, and do this!! Good luck everyone.

About to start studying for this evening until who knows……Ill stop by later. GL

    Hello everybody.

Fun Fact: I took the CPA exam (FAR) for the first time sometime last year. Honestly I live a pretty fast-paced life and it was a pretty major part of why I did it the way I did, but I took the exam with about 2-3 days of studying only. Needless to say, I didn't pass :DD

Anyway, lesson learned here is that the CPA exam is a tough cookie. I'm waiting on my NTS on FAR again right now. Major difference though, is that I'd like to do it properly on these boards this time around.

I'll try to share with you guys tips, updates, and what seems to be working for me. Also, I enjoy lurking/reading these boards so I'll probably learn alot/have alot of fun reading what you guys are up to.

Good luck to the people who are in crunch-time study mode right now and let's beat this exam together. 🙂

Has anyone here used the Gleim simulation wizard for FAR or any other section? It looks like you can only do the simulation 3 times. Can you call the agent to reset that if you need to do any simulations more than 3 times?

Splinter – call your personal counselor. In one of my evaluations I asked the same question and my counselor said that if I did the simulation 3 times and needed more practice that they could be reset. There aren't too many people on here using Gleim. Out of curiosity, what do you think of the prep course?

    REG - 64, 72, 81!
    FAR - 77
    AUD - 79
    BEC - 72, 79! And Done!

@jw_83: well I've only used the Book and Test Prep for AUD since I was already using another review. The Gleim multiple choice questions sometimes overlap with the questions from Becker, but they also come up with their own, so I think Gleim is a good supplement to another review if you've been getting 74's.

Hey FAR PEOPLE, I got FAR in few wks..I am using Becker 2012 software for self-study. Did everything from reading to MCQ..but I still get the feeling of not being “ready” for the exam…

    Hi Everyone,

I am planning on taking FAR in may and I am using Yeager CPA Review to study. Trying to study on my own is becoming difficult, I would appreciate if someone would share their tips on how to stay motivated.

    Thanks,

    Tanzil

There are a lot of new people posting in this thread. It makes me all nostalgic of when I was doing this for the first time instead of the 3rd and 4th time. Full of innocence, determination, hope, and aspiration… Lol. I envy those of you who still have the chance to do it all right the first time!!! 🙂 Good luck to everyone.

Okay… back to the books. Sigh. Test day is looming.

    @MsMathWiz.. Feb 2013

Yes, I have done all MCQ (did not meet 90% test for Becker)…and completed SIMS too. I will take practice exams wk before actual exam.

My issue, is I am forgetting alot of stuff from materials. This is my 1st shot at FAR…
